Side note, RE-Xing should have a folder of it's own IMHO.

So I am starting a very detailed re-x process here on the nexus.
I am very particular about efficiency and quality. Including time, aka, impatient at times.

So, after freezing my stb naphtha, I use a fan to turbo evap. As seen in the first pic.

In the second pic I've scraped and funneled the precipitate into the test tube on the right. I left two dirty ones to show previous tannins and such from previous batches. Don't worry about getting your freezer precip glass totally clean, just put saran wrap and a rubber band on it, use it again.

In pic 3 I have clean test tubes. I've added just enough heptane to cover the dmt. I also show you my glass syringe with a plastic tube to extend it to reach to the bottom of the tubes. You get those from MalGreens. (misspelling intended)

In pic 4, I've slowly heated the solution TAKING GREAT CARE NOT TO OVERHEAT, or the gunk will mix and you will have to let it cool and separate and try again. I then transfer it to tube 2 (middle), Taking care not to suck up the bottom layer.

In pic 5, it was the heated solution before the transfer..I got pics mixed up.

In pic 6, I add more heptane to tube 1, and heat carefully and slowly again.

In pic 7, I've transferred again to tube 2. I'm right handed so I work right to left.

In pic 8, I've transferred the accumulations into my crystal growing jar. You see yet more impurities in the middle tube. The tilt of the crystal grow jar is important. It allows anything non-dmt to fall to an area with least surface area. There will be more impurities I promise. I put this jar in my closet on the shelf for a day or two. You see the stuff in the bottom of the tubes? I will leave it. It is not that dirty, and still contains dmt, there will be white spots appearing, eventually a layer of crystal will grow on the top. I will do my next batch into those tubes like I just did until it they become dark brown/black.

When the crystals are ready, I pour the heptane into another jar to use again. I let the jar air dry and scrape crystals off the top not disturbing the solid sludge layer. It the bottom layer has small white spots, those are dmt, and I will put that orange chunk into a tube and recrystallize it like I did with the freeze precipitate.

You see, I evap only what is in my final crystal product. Shot glasses are far inferior and wasteful of dmt and heptane.

Also in-between steps I spilled the tubes before transferring to the grow jar. That's why you want to work on a glass table, or like myself, Melamine, which is shelf material. I simply blew on the puddle until the heptane evaporated, and scraped it up and finished this tek. If you plan ahead you can be efficient and show the spice how much you respect it.


This is where I'm at now, I will update you when it they grow, you have to wait like I do. XD

Also, no pics needed, I take the middle tube, add heptane and combine its contents with the first, and dump my next batch into it for the next extraction. I dump nothing in the drain. (Aside from my bodily functions, screw pooping in the dirt.)

That's some detailed work, and some great results!

Those are gorgeous crystals. I prefer limonene over naptha for pulling (natural/food safe only), but I doubt there is any way to get such nice crystals from full spectrum extract.

Thanks for checking them out. Yeah food safe is a safer route, but I don't mind the chemicals, I don't dump anything down the drain ever, except the used bark. Safety is pretty simple, just don't get lazy or rushed, and have measures on hand for any accidents. I have fire extinguishers and vinegar at hand.
