These are two festivals left this summer that are an absolute must for psychedelic and electronic music fans. Counterpoint is in Atlanta, GA and Rootwire is in Logan, OH. Rootwire is much smaller (only 5,000 tickets sold) and is a psychedelic artist's paradise. You must check out the lineup, Art Installations, Visionary Art Workshops, seminars , and their pictures on their website. The art installation that is inspired by the pineal gland looks incredible. I'll be traveling from Atlanta for this incredibly spiritualistic trip fest. Hope to find 4,999 other like minded peeps upon arrival.
http://rootwirefestival.com/Counterpoint is on a totally different level. It's now an internationally known festival and probably the last huge electro fest of the summer. Much bigger budget, much more people, and bigger (but not necessarily better by any means) names on the lineup than Rootwire. Everyone in the EDM scene should already know about this fest. I'll be there pimpin out our camp with about 15-20 of my favorite people. We got a sick light setup, lotsa teepees and bamboo, a couple RV's, and my buddy is gonna deck it all out in some sick artwork. Three day fest that will definitely be a memorable experience.
