if you examine the top of your vapor genie you'll notice very small cracks, these grow in time depending on how often it's used but they are certainly there!

Hey so was all set to blast off for the first time so i packed my brand new VG with 50mg of spice, closed up the top and sat back, note for a lighter im using a zippo blu, not the best for this but a great lighter none the less! after a few minuets of failing i gave up opened the chamber to notice the spice has gone (melted but still in the bottom of the bowl.)

stupidly to check if it had just vanished i glanced over the screens the lighter and poof a cloud of very nasty smelling smoke ( i assume dmt?)

so!

What is the best way to light with the VG? the ceramic plate seems too far down to be lighting with a torch?

are you supposed to light the plate directly or the side of the chamber?

Note i whacked in 9 screens when i got it as per many peoples recommendation.

i plan to try again in a short while but would like some pointers first

ok so now using 3 screens + some stainless steel scrubbers then 2 more screens,

Might try and replace the scrubber with some weed/herb!

one thing though i just took a smaller 30mg dose and im finding it very harsh, to the point where i cant hold it. and this is with 2/3 pulls rather then one long breath,

Any ideas?

if its harsh your doing it wrong, to much heat.

Actually it was a previous thread on the same topic that someone else started and got moved here. I was only helping a fellow traveler out by replying to him with my technique with the classic vapor genie.

One other suggestion when using GVG.

I lose some "regular coordination" both visual and physical when vaping.

I almost burned my hand with the torch lighter early on when holding the sherlock GVG like a regular pipe (ie. holding around the bowl).

When I did this, with somewhat impaired visuals and coordination, I missed the opening of the GVG, and almost fried my fingers that were around the GVG bowl.

I now wrap my indes finger on my left hand around the glass on the bowl side of the big bulge in the middle of the stem. This keeps my fingers well away from any flameage.

Not fun to melt your fingers while in hyperspace

by the way, have never had any problems using the torch lighter with the GVG. Recently I read on the vaporgenie website where they were inquiring from users what their opinion is of using a torch vs a regular lighter. I think their disclaimer about NOT using a torch lighter is to avoid having to replace cracked/damaged inserts/etc due to torch lighters. If used properly, NO problem....and best due to minimal soot etc. that may clog your carbon element if using regular lighters/matches etc......

I recently purchased a GVG for DMT use. Will it be ok to vape other herbs with it after its used for DMT or will the DMT taste always be present? I know quite a few of you are using the GVG so any helpful comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. :-)

It's perfectly fine. The GVG is very easy to clean. Just rinse with warm acetone and you're good to go. You could even put it in the dishwasher, if you were so inclined.

What lighter is better to use a torch or a bic?

Just make sure its clean before you load up a nice bowl pack for your buddy. Lol.

I had an unsuspecting friend take a massive rip of herb and there must have been a tiny bity of dmt resin left in the GVG.. He exhaled and was like WHOAH... and then stated that my coffee table had stretched out to about 15 feet long in front of him and then snapped back to normal size.

I had warned him that there might be a small amount in there but he really wanted to test the GVG out with herb and didn't want to wait for me to clean it. He was cool about it but I still felt a little bad!

Can it work with thin copper wires,forming it like a screen or does it has to be like chore boy?

I ask because i dont like to practice with small doses spice

if your GVG is set up properly then i find its all pretty much the same, changa, infused herb or crystals all vape very well

You can do both.

Either
(1) a leaf bed, or
(2) 8 or so screens, or
(3) a screen + a metal/wire mesh (do some /re/search here on the Nexus )
