I've vaped spice once, didn't break through but got shapes, floated in space (with a purple five-armed spinning shape in the background), felt really disconnected from my body.

I might have slightly underdosed on purpose just to check it out first. Now I'm ready though (I think) to take the plunge. What I'd like to know is, since I'm a weed smoker, does being high, say even a little residu-highness from a joint earlier on, influence in any way the result or outcome of smoking spice?

The obvious answer is probably to lay off the weed for the sake of the spice experience, but I'm talking about those situations where smoking spice comes up unplanned, while having smoked weed before.

Cheers.

As a daily toker, I find myself hard pressed to think of times when I smoked DMT and I hadn't smoked any weed earlier in the day. I've also had loads of incredibly profound and lucid breakthroughs. Those few times I can remember going into it completely sober, really took me for a spin, and if you're pretty high, it has a chance for clouding it up a bit, but in all honesty, it doesn't really hold me back too much.

I've found that it loosens me up for the lift-off!

Same answers from me... Hard to relax enough for liftoff without a little THC.

The downside is that it can effect your recall. On evenings where I don't smoke weed (rare, I admit) the next morning my dream recall is always surprising. I would assume it would be similar when it comes to recalling DMT experiences. But I think that being relaxed, comfortable and in a mellow state of mind is of the highest importance, and would be willing to sacrifice a little of the recall in exchange for that.

Some psychonauts report cannabis making their DMT visuals grainy or dull. I've never had this happen to me- in fact, with all psychedelics, I find that it brightens the visuals and overall integrates into the experience perfectly.

^^ totally agree with this.

I would only add that the type of cannabis strain is relevant for me. Relaxing indica strains contribute more to a calm, flowing mindset before vaping (while at the same time can bring more drowsiness and difficulties to recall) and sativa dominant strains go along nicely with the visuals and the clarity of the experience (but at a higher chance of giving you a slightly antsy mood). So it's about finding your own favorite weed, balance and dose.

I'd have to agreed with all of the above. Although I try and keep a few hours in between before lift off. All mainly for recall.
Although I only really moke oil and not so much flowers. It is a way more clear of a high, also depending on stain. But, I almost always finish a sess, with a oil sess afterward!
I once returned from 3 big oil rips, to again rip another bowl of changa. I broke though again, and returned to a very similar place I'd been before, 40 mins earlier, sober.
My whole thought process changed about the separation of the two after that. But I still try and keep a few hours in between. Big grin

From experience, I would say cannabis is best used afterwards for reflection purposes, as it definitely can cloud the experience, make it more forgetful and can even make it more confusing, for me at least. It may calm the nerves before blasting off for some, but that pre-flight anxiety is arguably very important to the experience. It can keep you humble and not as cocky and nonchalant about your spice usage.

i am a daily toker but usually solitary and at nite, as most cannabis strains give me anxiety so i think it aids to my anxiety before lift off rather than a lubricant like a couple glasses of wine would act in a social situation. i completely agree that it clouds my memory after a breakthrough flight, but at the same time i have had many ejoyable experinces with the two in succsession. anybody ever breakthrough while intoxicated with alcohol?

I dont do it personally because I tend to get quite nervous when Im high , but afterwards I love a smoke of cannabis as I reflect on the experience.
Regarding cannabis clouding the experience I wouldnt really know because I smoked weed once before ingesting DMT and it was aya so it was difficult to tell.

Well i would go for it without weed for you're first time, but thats just me. Weed affects people differently in the calm/anxiety area. Some it calms down. Some it gives anxiety. Some it gives a mix of both...etc..etc.

If weed calms you down, you might find it useful to smoke it beforehand and/or with dmt/changa..and you might find other reasons why its detrimental (memory/focus perhaps)

Weed affects me in a lot of wierd ways. I tend to trip out hard and it can range from extreme bliss to some intense anxiety. So i almost never smoke weed beforehand nowadays. In the past i did a lot, and it usually worked out fine. But the weed anxiety seemed to eventually overlap onto the dmt experience, which took a while to decondition myself from

Now i find it tremendously beneficial to just wait after the dmt to smoke. There are ways to bypass cannabis paranoia and changa helps a LOT here, especially when combined with some light flowing music, yoga, and vocalizations. Its amazing how even just a small hit of changa before the weed can totally change the cannabis high for me. I like to not smoke for a day or two, then have a changa experience (at any dosage), and afterwards pack changa/weed bowls and hit them gently while meditating. Its NOTHING like smoking weed before changa for me for some reason

Also, regarding that "disconnected" feeling you mentioned. Make 10x caapi changa if you haven't. I feel that disconnection to with freebase dmt alone, but with changa it feels much more integrated/intune with my body/nervous system on a far deeper level. Much more similar to mushrooms than freebase, actually. I haven't smoked freebase in a long time, just changa

<Ringworm>hehehe, it's all fun and games till someone loses an "I"
