I recently used a fair bit of spice in some changa but it causes headaches when smoked. Is there any way to recover the crystals without the harmalas?

harmalas are not very soluble in IPA, you could try to soak your changa in IPA and then seperate the IPA from the plant matter and evap the IPA.

not tried it myself but it might be worth a pop.

whats in your changa blend? could it be something other than the harmalas that giving you the headache?

well i used thh, harmine, and harmaline from flowing visions. I think I just added simply too much. I think I'm going to try dissolving in IPA, run it through a coffee filter or two, and evap. I'll report back once I go get some IPA from the store. I used peppermint and lavender as a base and those have never given me any headaches before so I'm sure it is the harmalas.
