Hopsin is definitely ill. There are a number of sick rappers around who can flow with intensity and still have something to say. He may not be as creative as guys like Saul Williams, but this song is pretty tight.

I like what he is trying to say here, but I don't agree with even half of his message... I mean railing against sex, drugs & the musical form he is using? Sex, drugs and music are the best things humans have got going for them (for the most part).

The mentality of the kids these days is pretty lame in a lot of cases, but it is hard to blame them from feeling disenfranchised, apathetic, and depressed. Shit is pretty fucked up out there, and opportunities for young people are about as bad as they have ever been. Why come down on them if they just wanna get stoned and fuck around? You expect them to face their grim reality sober and sexually repressed? Really... perhaps it is Hopsin who needs to wake his husky eyed ass up.

"Curiouser and curiouser..." ~ Alice

"Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it." ~ Buddha

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

Note that the poster of this message would never actually use or recommend to use illegal substances. He is just an attention seeker and should be considered to be lying about everything he posts and his posts are only for the sake of generating discussion.

He seems to be to much the polar opposite of the mindlessness he is rapping out..which is again another form of mindlessness IMO..headonism is not the problem lol..it's how its done so often that is part of the problem.

He is freakin talented though.
Long live the unwoke.

My apologies, I didn't click the link you posted because I wanted to read the lyrics instead of watching the video. Except when I googled "Hopsin - Ill mind of Hopsin" and clicked this link:

http://rapgenius.com/Hop...ll-mind-of-hopsin-lyrics

As you see I got different lyrics for some different song. I read about half of it, I didn't really stick around looking for a deeper meaning and thought you'd posted some tripe for us to listen to.

Anyhow, I clicked your link today and was very surprised - I think this is a great message to convey to young people. I detest modern "top-40" music that encourages shallow, superficial thinking; literally facilitating the destruction of impressionable minds and actively discouraging the empowerment of young people to think for their selves.

As much as I think the message is important, I won't go as far to sing his praises and say that he is a good writer - I think this could have been better written even without having to abandon his aggressive and hostile style.
