I definately feel like it is a calling for me. Of course I am very anxious about trying it just because it lasts so long. I really really like DMT freebase, and changa preparations. Does that mean that I will enjoy aya as well? I Have done large doses, small doses, messed up doses where I just screwed up. Am I Ready?

the only time i broke through with aya, upon coming down,
i understood then that i was never going to be prepared enough to be ready for the depths of profundity i experienced and as such i had always been ready
it is a game changer

Man, Jaime beat to it.Laughing

He is not being short with you it's actually the only honest answer one could give you. All anyone could say further are things that may help you find your own answer. So here are a couple tidbits.

First keep it in perspective. Dmt is one of the fastest psychs we know of. I kinda chuckled reading your words about aya being SO LONG. Out of all the great plant teachers aya is on the shorter end. Look at iboga or mescaline. 4-6 hours is a drop in the bucket in all actuality.

Next thing that caught my eye is your wondering if you would enjoy aya because you enjoy dmt. Truth be told you don't really enjoy ayahuasca. You may have an enjoyable journey but keep in mind its emphasis is the healing and growth and the most healing and growth comes from some pretty un enjoyable times. So even if you don't enjoy it you will get some good stuff if you do your part. After what I have been through with Ayahuasca I want to tell you you should wish your that lucky. Some will know first hand what I mean by that.

Give it some thought. Find your answer. Whats the worst that can happen.Very happy

are you ready? Hmmmm... I don't know. I thought I was ready. But what was in store for me was not at all what I expected. Not one eensy weensy wee wee bit! I had never taken any form of DMT. I had previously taken some really deep trips on acid 30+ years prior.. I had taken mescaline in the form of peyote, and I had taken mushrooms... all 28 years or more before the ruemosa adventures 2 years ago.

I should have talked to Jamie before hand, but I am a big boy. I saw it suggested in the encyclopedia of psychoactive plants to take 3 grams rue followed by 9 grams of mimosa an d that would be a deep experience. Well, I though perhaps I ought to tone this down a little so I took 3 grams of rue and then 7 grams of mimosa.

Well, I never though such a space existed... never ever in a million years. I don't know if anyone is actually prepared for where it takes you. Perhaps it's just me. One thing for sure was the joy at realizing some 3.5 hours later is that I was coming back to my house again... and the feeling of having taken the journey was very joyful in the afterglow.

I did Aya for the first time last night. No previous DMT experience, last "successful" hallucinogenic was over 2 years ago. It was amazing. I also felt a calling to Aya.

IMO if you are feeling that calling you should go for it. Are you ready? Agree with mew. How could I ever be ready to fully see, understand, know that what I perceive with my 5 senses is as much an illusion as my hallucinations...

Don't let fear put you off. Mama Aya is kind, is beautiful, is nurturing and protective even in the unpleasantries. Just make sure you put lots of time and thought into set and setting. Do what you feel is right to connect to the spirit of the vine.

Please read the Aya info in the WIKI, and also check out about MAOI interactions. This will be the fist step. Next comes the mind bit and stuff: Is your mindset, and setting good?

Finally. Start reasonably sensible. The regular dose is 50-60 gram Yello Caapi, 50 Gram Chakruna.

If using Rue, 3-4 grammes made into tea is reccomended, mimosa about 5 grammes tea, sediment removed by eggwhite.

These should be good intro's. Good luck.Cool

Easy, just start off in the shallow part of the pool, but also don't think that because your happy there that your ready to plunge straight in at the deep end, because that deep end is a whole new game. Work your way up.

Really though, it's never the same, sometimes theres a general theme to it, but even after years it still surprises me.

Like someone said, 4-6 hours or so isn't that bad. But then again, if your in deep enough you won't even know what time is or who or where you was Wink

Do you have experience with this? Personally that is not a dose I reccomend to someone drinking for the first time alone at home. Maybe some need that much but some people will be off the planet for a good while with a dose like that.

Ayahuasca and her analogues is not always kind and nurturing..I cant help but smile when I hear people say ayahuasca is like that. It *can* be like that..but spend enough time on this path and one learns quickly that ayahasca can also have you writhing on the floor all night while she rips you a new one. Ayahuasca is the most bliss and most terror I have ever experienced.

This is why I reccomend people start lower. Ayahuasca is not a one time thing..it is best used over a longer period of time. No need to rush into it with really large doses.

NO, i don't. But these are "standard" doses from what i recall. And the OP is already used to smoking the stuff.

I'm not gonna beef about no longer, but you could get really specific and say check the caapi out cos it might be too strong. If the OP has already smoked the stuff, he's not a "weak" head. I'm sure he would be fine at those doses...HOWEVER....

please use the WIKI for all your AYAHUASCA RESOURCES AND INFO. Repeating the info is getting tiresome. Read, read, and then read more. Then ask questions......Wink

everyone that needs Aya info should read THIS then ask questions. I worry that some are skimming thru info and rushing about. Not a good idea with Ayahuasca. This question should never be asked and goes to show the OP hasnt done the research required, or they'd know. Neutral

Thanks for all your input I really appreciate. I understand all of what I am hearing. I have to say that I'm not the kind of person to jump into things, I've been reading a lot about ayahuasca. I didn't really get into DMT until ten years after first finding DMT: The spirit molecule book which I read atleast once a year during that ten year time period. I did smoked DMT a lot and when I say I enjoy it I don't mean it's all fun. At first I didn't know what to expect, but even the "bad" experiences I've had always had a positive effect. A lot of my experience with DMT are struggles, but I feel a spiritual need to continue with my experiences. It's not that I want to do DMT, it's that I need to for my spirit. Aya has been calling to me because it feels like there is much that I am missing just smoking it and experience the short extremely fast paced trips. I feel like I miss out on so much information. From what I've read, aya will slow things down a bit so I can get a better grip on what is going on. Thanks again for all your replies they were really nice reading them. Made me feel a little more confident in my decision. And I knew in advance that asking other people if I'm ready would get the reaction that It did, truth is I had already made up my mind just had to say it out loud so to speak to fully realize how much I need it. Thank you. Very happy
