What do people think about listing to music while on psychedelics. What effects can they have on our experience, and do you like to?... What type of music do u like to listen to if so?

personally I like downbeat ,ambient, dub, jam, and psybeint, trance ect. Some of My favorite artists to listen to are: sound tribe sector 9 , ott, shpongle, blue tech , tipper, st.germian, thievery corporation, and the classic grateful dead. Although all these artist have different sounds and styles from jam-rock to elecro jazz to psydub and ambient and they each fit best in the right environment and mindset depending on the trip.

I also deffinitly think music has a great affect on your trip and I believe that certain music and vibrations can "bring you higher" in your trips or help form experiences.

So what do you think?

Music and psychedelics go together amzingly well! Both enhance each other and it's just amazing synergy.

Me and a friend are in the process of writing a psychedelic kinda tribal tech track. I listened to it on 40mg dmt on headfones the other night there and it sounded amazing. Might just have been because it's our music lol.

If you fancy checking it out here's a link Smile http://soundcloud.com/demention-2/iboga-6-mp3

Definitely dig the track, it sounds kinda like a tribal, minimal tech, psydub and ambient tune. Its got good dynamics, good flow, good beats, and doesn't go too over the top which makes it an easy listen. Good stuff

I also find my own productions as favorite companions on my journeys, as well as my influences-shpongle,ott,carbon based lifeforms. here u can listen/download for free my stuff hope u enjoy,

cheers

deffintly use psychadelics with music. i find with dmt, though music can be kind of a distraction if too much so only ambient or chillout and not too loud. It creats sort of an ambience for the trip but its not like with other psychadelics like mushrooms where i become one with the music and sounds 1000000 times better. Very nice stuff cosmic butterfly and demented btw, imma add those to my trip playlist Smile

EVERY single time I do shrooms, I turn all the lights off and listen to my music for about 6 hours. I live for those moments. I listen to really heavy, heavy stuff by the way. So fucking amazing.....

oh my lord great analogy! i love it haha... it does go hand in hand, i myself prefer infected mushroom aswell as a huge variety of artists.

When I use Cannabis, I like listing to Binaural Beats, and Women Vocal Trance. I Also enjoy middle eastern music too. It sounds amazing.

Love some Flying Lotus when tripping!

I also listen to some dubstep... some people may be like "WHAT?.. dubstep is so cliche and lame" Well your generic dubstep is but when you pick the right tracks it's beautiful and VERY trippy... the synergy with DMT and dubstep is almost scary sometimes... but that goes with almost ANY music.

Some dubstep tracks in particular...

Nero - This Way
Nero - Innocence
Nero - Act like you know
Emalkay - When I Look at You (VERY SPECIAL TRACK... have had some VERY profound trips with this as my background music)
Bar 9 - Untitled Symphony
Bar 9 - Strung Out
Skepsist - Reflux
Modestep - Exile
Brown & Gammon - Be There (incredible)
Mt. Eden - Still Alive (very moody and atmospheric)
Mt. Eden - Sierra Leone (atmospheric... parts will have you stuck and lost)

Trippy dubstep... here's a few tracks that will have your head spinning in disbelief with some of the ways DMT utilizes those moments throughout each song... so proceed with caution.. you will swear out that something not of this world was using this music as a direct gateway to your brain... straight mind F*ckery right here

Coki - Goblin
Coki - Spongebob
Doctor P - Rasputin's Gold
Doctor P - March of the Mallards
Datsik - Overdose

got more but I'ma keep it short for now.

But as far as flying lotus goes here's a quick sure fire list... this is what I like to call alien hip hop. So hypnotic

Flying Lotus - MmmmHmmm (one of my favorite.. if not my most favorite track to trip to... have went FAR away with this being the music bouncing around in the cockpit of my spaceship. Special times!!)
Flying Lotus - Orbital Brazil
Flying Lotus - SexSlaveShip
Flying Lotus - Ice Cave Cleaners
Flying Lotus - Zodiac Shit (there's a video to this that is also a adult swim bump... the imagery, at least to me, is VERY DMT influenced.)
Flying Lotus - Sleep Sweepers (sometimes use this track to dose off actually... very lullaby like but when tripping it's just so amazing.. recommend this track to anyone as a nice floaty, soft, introspective tune to listen to while tripping)

That's it for now. Sorry for the long post. I'm a musician as well as an enthusiast. Very happy Thumbs up

I also agree with whoever mentioned TOOL earlier. I listened to these guys a lot, YEARS before doing DMT and when listening to them now, after discovering DMT, I feel as though they were foreshadowing through music... lol They've been there... I'm almost 100% certain
1% of reality is within our plane of existence. What we feel... what we see... what we hear... what we "think" we know... The other 99% percent of reality can only be shown to us through DMT. This 99% lies within the "Realm of the Unknowns". We can only experience FULL reality when we leave this vessel, our bodies. DMT gives us a taste of this full reality... the universal knowledge is given to us by the beings who call "hyperspace" their home. When in hyperspace there is no "self" but instead this self is replaced with pure and raw energy. ENERGY CAN NOT BE DESTROYED, ONLY TRANSFERRED OR TRANSFORMED! So when you have that "ego-death" during a breakthrough trip, don't fret, you are not being destroyed but yet..... YOU ARE BEING TRANSFORMED.

I LOVE YOU, RESPECT YOU AND I THANK YOU... Dimethyltryptamine ... for showing me the 99% of reality that I would never have experienced in everyday life.

I knew my list was lacking but I should really smack myself for not having Galaxy In Janaki (considering it's on one of my trip playlist)... Camel I'm not familiar with tbh... but I just listened to it and I thank you for that recommendation. That song is VERY hypnotic! Thumbs up

I'm surprised no one mentioned any of these great ones...

The Doors: mainly earlier stuff, Live at the Matrix 67' is amazing, I love their live versions way more than the studio ones. Ray on electric organ is killer psychedelic, also with Robbie's slide guitar, and Jim's way out there poetic lyrics.

Pink Floyd: Piper at the Gates of Dawn was made for playing live shows where everyone was tripping balls. Listening to Astronomy Domine feels like you're taking off in a spaceship. Darkside of the Moon obviously, and the lesser known Ummagumma which has crazy Avant-Garde noise and music exploration.
Syd Barrett's solo album, The Madcap Laughs, after getting kicked out of Pink Floyd is like listening to Psychedelic Blues. (A hidden gem a lot of people don't know about)

The Beatles: Revolver, Magical Mystery Tour, White Album, etc... (Turn off your mind, relax and float downstream)These guy's were musical genius's and the explosion of LSD at that time opened them up to unexplored areas in music. I mean they made a movie that was for tripping to. Watch Yellow Submarine tripping and tell me otherwise.
George Harrison's Electronic Noise, sounds like R2D2 having a 20 minute orgasm. In my opinion some of the first techno, it was just him messing around on some of the new synthesizers.

If you listen closely all of these guys opened the path for all this techno music we have today, they were some of the first to mess around with synthesizers and use them to create amazing musical soundscapes.

"If what they say is true, you are a shadow in the 4th dimension."
