Put some Primus on your playlist. Get "The Anitpop". It's their best album. You won't regret it. The basslines of "Natural Joe" will blow your mind. Stanley Jordan is also a phenominal jazz artist. Some of the most intricate and beautiful music you can listen to. I also have some tunes that are just a pure mind fuck like yngwie malmsteen and some other shred metal.

I'm building my next playlist in preparation for the Spring. It's called, "Dionysus in the Springtime," and as my last playlist was riddled with peyote chants, and the one before that with music from "Earthbound," this next one will feature a good deal of Tuvan folk music (esp. throat singing). If anyone really wants any of these playlists to listen to, I could find a way to upload them somewhere as zip files.

Here's the playlist for a recent Psilohuasca journey i had.

Mostly very nice ambient flowing tonal music, with some portions of very deep Didgeridoo and Tibetan singing bowls for good measure Smile

One of my pharma playlists is:
Perpetual Groove - Sun Dog
Umphrey's McGee - Miss Tinkle's Overture
Queen - Brighton Rock (live off "Live Killers" ) / The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke
Steve Vai - Iberian Jewel / Light of the Moon / The Moon and I / I'll Be Around
Tommy Emmanuel - Initiation
Vyakhyan-Kar - Solitude / Nataraja
Mattias "Ia" Eklundh - Asteroid 3834
Ron Thal - Elevator
Mike Orlando - Game Over
Phish - Ball Square Jam (live from Super Ball IX)

My picks are a bit odd matched up against ambient/techno playlists that seem to be the norm around here, but it works for me and my fellow travelers.

"The Mighty One appears, the horizon shines. Atum appears on the smell of his censing, the Sunshine- god has risen in the sky, the Mansion of the pyramidion is in joy and all its inmates are assembled, a voice calls out within the shrine, shouting reverberates around the Netherworld." - Egyptian Book of the Dead

"Man fears time, but time fears the Pyramids" - 9th century Arab proverb

These are some of youtube's chillout mixes(about one hour), which are great for relaxing musical moments, sober or with whateverWink

There are some other great mixes there, especially by Tekiu.

My rules for playlisting is to avoid anything with too much in the way of beats, vocals, any jarring changes or anything too obviously electronic.

These are representative of my preferences...

Elm -Nemcatacoa

Six Organ Of Admittance - River Of Transfiguration

R|A|A|N - Passage Nacrastan/The Ativvi Culmination
Sometimes I believe that this less material life is our truer life, and that our vain presence on the terraqueous globe is itself the secondary or merely virtual phenomenon.
