Through summoning the Lizard King he would like to express through me how much he is displeased with this statement above, advanced spiritualist and psychonauts should have complete total control of their minds on the neural level, one should have complete control over their emotions at the very most least, to the point of making a Vulcan appear as an emotional teenager.

He is now questioning sparing your puny human species, and will continue with his original plans of collecting chosen individuals for the true awakening, while the rest are consumed in flames.

Your vulcan analogy intrigues me as I have many times compared how we deal with emotions as humans to what the vulcans do. Imagine if we did control our emotions 100%! I think that is the next stage of our mental evolution.

However, NO ONE has achieved this IMO. To the very least, no one aside from master Buddhist's and masters of meditation, but even then I dont really think they have 100% control.

Day's 1-7: No drugs or alcohol of any kind unless they are absolutely necassary. Eat a healthy balanced diet and get some exercise everyday,

Day 8: Small-Medium dose of Aya

Day's 9-14: Same as day's 1-7.

Day 15: Medium dose mescaline.

No drugs or alcohol until the job situation is changed for the better. You gotta find something you can do that will not drain the life out of you. This is VERY important to a happy life IMHO.

At this point you should be functioning on pretty solid neural footing so it's time to get out there and hit the pavement looking for a new job. You'll be in a great mood after your 15 day clean out and this will help 10 fold landing a better job. 15 day's of sobriety with an aya journey to restore serenity and a mescaline trip to restore energy will certainly set you back right. After that honestly it's ALL up to you. Motivation is like a muscle. The more you use it the more of it you have. Seriously.

Peace.
If your religion, faith, devotion, or self proclaimed spirituality is not directly leading to an increase in kindness, empathy, compassion and tolerance for others then you have been misled.

I'm in a similar boat right now, I just got dumped from a 2 year relationship, kicked out of the apartment we were sharing, I had to move in with my grandparents and on top of it all I had to come off of doing heroin (37 days clean atm) at the same time. Definitely a lot of change and its got me pretty down. I'm feeling a lot better now, but I found doing art and writing poems or lyrics or even just keeping a journal about what I was feeling was a really good release, just so all those thoughts are not perpetually stuck in your head. Working out a lot helps too, I've begun running and swimming and other exercises. Reading a really good book, it helps if its a series of books (I'm reading the Dark Tower series by Steven King, 7 books and each of them are really long).

A couple years ago I went through a weird phase for a few months, it was from taking MDMA every weekend for several months. Mind you this was months after I stopped, I would be super happy for a few days and somewhere in the middle of the week I would get really sad. This cycle continued for awhile, then it just stopped. So maybe your brain just needs time to balance out.

Also you would have to ask yourself if this is even worth achieving, One could maybe think the only reason we are here is to experience everything the mind has to offer including every emotion to date as well as the ones which are indescribable. One could also argue that suppressing your emotions is equivalent to a self induced psychosis through meditation and drug use. Always good to have a nice medium.

Well I meant more along the lines of emotion control. Vulcans have to suppress them because they get completely out of control unless they do. Humans however just need to get some control. Only allow certain emotions to present themselves. Anger has NO place IMO, except maybe the occasional fight with a mountain lion.

The best thing in my opinion is to watch some stand-up comedy. Smile Laughter is the best medicine for you Smile... I'm sometimes not motivated to, but it helps if you make time to do something you like to do. Smile

Goodluck Sol, Keep on kicking! When I get down in the dumps I often go on long bike rides, listen to music and write. Dancing can be very effective aswell. Its funny sometimes when your down it feels alright keeping yourself down and sulking. Then you realize its time to experience.

I've heard this the other day, whilst my short recollection here does make it sound a little strange, it was from a motivation seminare:
In the morning, when you look in the mirror, say to yourself: "i am a born winner!", several times optimum. Why?
From over a million sperm cells that arise from an orgasm, only you managed to make it and get into that egg cell and become a human being! so youre the one out of a million!

When i feel situatianally depressed or in a bad mood, i hear music that resembles my emotions the nearest (Depressive|Agressive|Passive) and then change to "lighter" music step by step. Also i found it very important to eat and drink well, allthough i still fight myself over that. But all the small adjustments can also support a boost, if you feel like you dont have the power for greater jobs/tasks or removing stones that block your path yet. So things like cleaning the room, making the laundy, re-sort your stuff will make you feel a tiny tiny bit better plus it gets your mind off the 'crap'. Bike ride is awesome at night if you live in a city or evening when you live in the countryside.

If you can arrange it with place, time and mood, i would recommend a single nature mushroom or acid trip. I did this a few times with each substance, and it helped me alot sorting out my current issues, getting a new (old) perspective. sometimes the "effect", the fundamental change in general feeling, took weeks after the experiences happened themself. All in all that told me the psycho-social potential of psychedelics and the potential for treatment of depression and anything connected with it (i.e. substance abuse). Im happily awaiting my first DMT Journey.
BUT allways remmeber Set/Setting! Better let an opportunity slide than having a bad or unsatisfactory trip!

I have enjoyed many Posts in this thread and actually learned new perspectives, some post i think i will read more often or note/pin down, i'm too lazy now to lookup which, but THANKS, good vibes from good people!

You're very right. Nobody has. This is because we can't control our emotions, no matter how hard we may try. Once this little hangup is out of the way, it's really quite easy. Just a skip and a giggle and you're on your way. Wink

I am delighted to see this as a topic on the nexus today, as i have been going through some struggles recently as well. And to see things from another ones perspective is always refreshing.

As for myself, when the flow gets low i like to meditate, for one. and try to understand the root of my problem and how to deal with it. taking time to think over a situation always has benefits.

Another way I cope is to reassure myself that life is all experience, that nothing lasts and things will fade, but there will always be a brighter day.

Man, I wish I knew how to get out of the depression when it happens. I tend to just sleep and hope to wake up feeling better. Sometimes it works, sometimes nothing changes. Actually, going to work is pretty beneficial for me. I am "forced" to help run a store. Menial jobs are the best. I get a lot of exercise stocking shit, and the people around me are generally good people. Weed also tends to help. I'm not a fan of doing psychedelics when I'm depressed, but it could be useful to show you that the world we live in is beautiful. It may not alleviate the depression, but it will certainly give you a new perspective of it. A change of perspective can be all you need a lot of the time.

Whatever you choose to do, I love you dude! I love everybody, and they should know that. Hearing that someone loves you is always a good thing. Brings on the smiles! Very happy

I sometimes find it neccesary to step out of my usual routines and look at the bigger picture. If you are sick of your job, you can either change jobs, or remind yourself that you're going to school to work in a field that you will enjoy. If you can't get into the schoolwork, remember that it's a step toward the end goal, a satisfying career.

I agree with the previous posters who encouraged doing something creative. That's always good therapy.
I must respectfully disagree with those who suggest using substances to alleviate symptoms or obtain a different perspective. That's not a good coping method, IN MY OPINION.

Life is a long road. There will be bumps, potholes, and detours. But we can still enjoy the ride if we take the time to enjoy the scenery.

I will also add that I occasionally do a random, madcap dance and spout utter nonsense when I need a perspective shift. That may sound kind of crazy, but it effectively jars me into a silly mood, and I usually end up laughing at myself. Razz
