I'm trying to build a vaporizer out of a soldering iron with adjustable temperature (there are plenty of them on ebay for around $20). Here's the whole idea in one pic:



I just have a piece of aluminium foil shaped to form a bed that the spice rests upon and have the bottom of the bottle sealed with electric tape to prevent the fumes from leaking. Generally the idea has proved to be successful: at 200-250 °C it fills the bottle with pure smooth vapour. Not harsh at all. However I had troubles getting a breakthrough dose: it vaporizes very slowly so it takes few minutes to fill the bottle and it's still not enough. I repeated that twice and still had CEV only.

I'm planning to drill a hole at the top of the bottle and put a straw there so that I could pull more vapour with my lungs at once - currently I disconnect the bottle and inhale the fumes through the bottleneck with a straw, that's not very efficient.

The other problem is that because it's a long process some of the DMT condenses on the walls.

Any ideas on how to improve this design?

Unfortunately the vapor process works better with airflow that brings the vapor out and away. I personally don't think your going to get much from this style. Cool idea tho
