Evening gents and ladies.

My name is, ummm Ram.

Not really my name, but I suppose it alludes to my nationality, of which I am prooud Smile

But truly, this is meant to be an introduction of my person, my quest for knowledge and the path on which I tread ^,^

to be honest, introductions were never my strength, and neither is typing. After all, I am a Psych. major and this is where I will start. The path leading me into psychology is a colorful one. Full of crazy guitar teachers, awesome movies, and incredible experiences which have lead me to question and discover the nature of consciousness and quite possibly lead me on the path to becoming a pioneer in the invention of "SomA" (those of you who read Brave New World will understand Laughing

When I was young, not too young, but young enough, I was already different in my opinion. Dreams too real to be true, floating above the bed watching myself sleep, even predicting a few events that were impossible for me to have known about at that age. But often my parents dismissed this as the strange imagination of children.

Eventually, when most kids began taking up hobbies, I took one as well, Lucid Dreaming, guitar playing and philosophizing. That's was three, but no one's really counting.

Lucid dreaming opened my mind to the power of my subconscious. Guitar lessons were never really about guitar, because my teacher was in love with psychedelics and like a scientist I sat there questioning him and reliving the experiences he had had. I loved every bit of it Rolling eyes

As time went by, I forgot about these things, but my mind like super cooled water sat dormant waiting for the first crystal to form.

One day I simply suggested to some buddies we should eat some shrooms, but that never happened, mostly because everyone was more curious about trying good ol ganj' for their first experience.

But I never gave up on Psilocybe. My intense passion and fascination eventually fired the curiosity of those around me and when the time came, it came. My b-day, Halloween, we, after much planning and saving, got our hands on really big batch, I took a big 14s to my self and well, let's just say, I've never been the same since Smile

I became the shroomy of the group, the shroom head. It's true, I spent a couple of years exploring this reality, the first year being the most intense. Then I drifted onto a large array of other chemicals, botanicals and such, until I had to stop completely, rediscovering for the first time, that EVERY trip that I had ever had was possible without anything but the power of my mind and some good ol' concentration. I had found spirituality.

Then after a couple of years of doing just this, (including traveling to the Himalayas and other magical places Razz I've found myself on the path of academia, walking on a happy balance between dream and reality. Nowadays I find myself mostly researching new methods of enhancing the human mind with out harm Thumbs up (This includes for those who are curious Mary Jane, Psilocybe, Nootropics and Big grin

It is my belief and many of those who I have met in my field, that to expand the realm of exploring consciousness, a new vehicle is necessary. One that is both natural AND safe. Something the human mind is comfortable climbing into. A cosmic spacesuit if you will Cool I believe Dr. Strassman has started something genuine and authentic, and likewise so has this forum. So, in conclusion, I hope to contribute, participate and learn at the Nexus, while, at the same time, continuing to explore consciousness from my side of the world

-Ram

Hiya. Could you expand on this a bit? One of my favorite topics...

hello there, hope ya have a great time here and can't wait to learn from what you post.
He who is slow to believe anything and everything is of great understanding, for belief in one false principle is the beginning of all unwisdom. The chief duty of every new age is to upraise new men todetermine its liberties, to lead it towards material success - to rend the rusty padlocks and chains of dead customs that always prevent healthy expansion. Theories and ideals and constitutions that have meant life, hope and freedom for our ancestors may mean destruction,
slavery, and dishonor to us. As environments change, no human ideal standeth sure.
