On the 4th wash I am going to combine all liquids which should be about 6 liters. The problem is I don't have all day to reduce! I can get it done if I boil but I have heard boiling is not what you want to do, only a simmer with little bubbling, which is what I have been doing. Is it really that big a deal if boil it down during reduction? I'm not talking a heavy boil either, just light enough for it to get the job done in 2-3 hours.
How much vine/leaf are you working with?
You can boil...no worries.
Each 2.5L wash you can BOIL down to around 150-200ml..doesn't have to be exact. Once you do that for your 3-4 washes, then combine the 600+/-ml washes and reduce to a manageable shot.
******Once you combine all washes and reduce make sure to turn the heat down as you go and as the liquid gets more and more reduced so you dont burn your shots-worth of brew.
Good luck!
