I'm currently in the process of designing an application for a business I'm starting up with a partner. It's still in the design and planning phase but ever since I saw Inside LSD I've been curious about the effects of LSD on my programming.

So, since I'll be starting the construction of this project within the next couple of weeks I'd also like to plan one or two sessions under the influence of LSD. The idea is to beforehand select a certain problem I wish to solve, collect all required documents and information and set up my work environment. I think I'll spend the first 4 hours of the trip having fun and relaxing, easing into the right mindset and then have a sitter bring me my work. I'll obviously run a backup off all my documents and the repository.

Any experiences with this? I'm also quite unsure about dosage but I've been thinking about perhaps taking 90 ~ 110mcg (2 ~ 2.5 blotters tested at 45mcg).

I'd love to hear some feedback. I'll report back in this thread after the experience but that won't be until a couple of weeks.

No personal experience here, but the traveler has said a lot of the programming for the nexus was done on LSD

I know several computer scientists who are acid heads as well and it seems to work great for them. Although I wouldnt restrict the first four hours of the trip to a schedule, since that's the majority of the experience. Just go with the flow

This isn't quite what you asked, but somewhat related so I thought you might find it useful. Last year I was doing a series of lectures about a new technology in my field. Some of the presentations were repeated several times for different groups. On two occasions I had a session with The Molecule (nnDMT) 4-6 hours before. On both those occasions my presentation flowed more smoothly, I remembered the material more easily and was able to deliver it novel ways and I was more engaged with the attendees. I got very good reviews at both these events. It's my experience that psychedelics in general and DMT in particular improve performance after the fact in a number of ways, technically, socially, sexually. FWIW. Good luck.

I always had the impression lsd had a huge role in the creative development of the internet.
LSD is a huge catalyst in terms of creativity period. Do it. Make sure you have some toasty ganja as well. LSD is one of the biggest muses for an artist. Of course the majority of you already know this common knowledge. DOSE EVERYDAY! Thumbs up
Its in your head

LSD in lower doses can help creativity (100 micrograms), but with higher doses I wouldn't be able to concentrate on the code or design at hand. LSD did help create modern computing, there is no debate or question about that.
Anything written within this post is a complete work of fiction, any resemblance to reality is a coincidence.

I could see a low dose being useful for thinking about how something should be done.

But I cannot imagine on even a medium dose actually sitting down and doing something that requires good consistent cognitive flow. LSD is known to directly effect short/long term memory, I think it'd be very hard not to forget what you were doing and what still needs to be done.

Not quite at the same level, but a few quick puffs of cannabis can really get me into the flow of things, but if I smoke too much exactly what seeker mentions happens: I forget what I'm doing and where I'm going. I can still work but not nearly as efficiently.

You might be interested in trying the 2C-X-NBOMe's in place of LSD. They generally have a more consistent high (8 hour consistent trip as opposed to slowly coming down over time with acid) and they feel more sober-minded compared to LSD so you won't be so overwhelmed with thought and cluttering your mind with the racing thoughts, unless you specifically want to use acid. In that case, go for it!

I've done a bit of art on low to medium doses, including some very productive tattoo sessions. Good call in planning to get all that left brain stuff taken care of ahead of time, so your creativity is empowered. I've found that, since working with art tools is second nature to me, doing so on LSD actually can provide an enhanced version of the experience, with greater attention, deeper focus, stronger sensitivity to minutiae, such as the individual strikes of the needle on the skin. On higher doses I have to fight to keep my attention on the job, and it stops being enjoyable. But 200ug or less and you should be able to hold it together. As long as the task is interesting to you and familiar enough to be able to do mostly automatically, LSD may give the experience added dimension- and you are almost certain to make new intuitive leaps throughout the experience.

I'm not much of a fan of research chemicals. Not because they're synthetics but because the long term effects are just unknown. LSD, 4-HO-DMT, DMT, mescaline and ayahuasca have very long reputable histories. All of them have been extensively researched(although could use a lot more research) and long-term effects are generally known.

Taking RCs is not for me. I'll stick to the paved roads. Seems like 2 to 2.5 blotters will be consumed somewhere next week or the week after.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll report after my experience.

I've had great success programming while on LSD. In fact, this is one of the things holding me back lately. I've been without it for over a year and the fog in my mind gets worse and worse. Acid is one of the only things to clear this fog and allow me to see the code clearly. I considered the 25i route - but as you say the long-term effects are simply unknown.

Oh well, it seems I'll just have to wait until she graces me with her presence. To your question, I've found the 75-150 range to be perfect - depending on my mood. I can accomplish some pretty awesome stuff in this range.

have you experimented with LSA at all?
or does it simply not work as well for this purpose?
