My dear Nexians,

I was wondering whether you prefer having your eyes opened or closed when travelling into the "other world" of DMT?

(Just to explain why I have posed this question: I consider myself to be a humble beginner in the realm of DMT, having smoked DMT cca 15 times, with 2 full-scale breakthroughs so far). Until a few days ago, I kept closing my eyes always when I started the DMT effects to be coming on. Last time I smoked a small amount of DMT - probably around 15 mg - and decided to leave my eyes opened. I was very suprised by how the trip was visually very different from my closed eyes experiences Smile )

Peace&Love,
Michal

Very true. I have had a few where I have no idea if my eyes were open or not, sometimes it doesn't make a difference at all.

But to answer your question, I prefer to have my eyes closed.

I too am relatively new to spice. I have used it approx 20 times now and I very rarely fail to break through, due to the fact that I knew this was for me and invested in a GVG straight away.

I find I can't keep my eyes open. My friends tell me I go all cross eyed and then they just close. I've tried several times now, but really struggle to do it.

It's sort of knee-jerk reaction for me, but I almost always have to close my eyes at some point.

I tried keeping my eyes open once vaping ~30mg. When it started kicking in my surroundings started vibrating and making crazy patterns, I then closed my eyes and that didn't change what I was seeing so yeah it doesn't matter if your eyes are open or not. Easier to just keep them closed if you're going to be leaving your body.

Closed eyes seem to take me further.. I have had a few trips with eyes open, I usually find my eyelids hanging though.. Extremely lazy (it feels nice). Haha. As for breakthroughs, I'm not quite sure what exactly defines one because I have had one my first time in a cave with eyes open but its not like there were any entities or that I couldn't distinguish hyperspace from reality, but I was absolutely speechless, everything was just so beautiful (and it was also the first time I experienced the cliche of the sky going pink)

Its really all up to personal preference and how you define your experiences.

Try both.

Yes. You wont be able to tell a difference between oev or cev if you are given the optimum or large enough dosage. For whatever reasons 3 seems to be the lucky number in regards to the amount of tokes it takes for me to disappear only to re-appear in what is, almost as If a nuke was set off destroying everything we once considered physical reality as well as yourself.

For sub-breakthroughs I enjoy whatever feels right at the moment closed, opened, and halfway. Tend to have eyes half opened the majority it seems for subs.
Its in your head

Get yourself a GVG, your 3 tokes will become 1Surprised .

True, although there's so much of a greater reward attempting to smoke or do anything for that matter when your head is loaded with DMT, comical for sure. Light lighter, move to bowl, inhale, and exhale. Hands and feet are so sweet.
Its in your head

Smile I got my GVG recently, so I fully understand this point. I was really able to clear the bowl with one large hit. Of course I don´t remember exhaling... Surprised

Although being able to breakthrough quite easily (thanks to my GVG), I recently started experimenting with sub-breakthrough doses as well... (hence my question above)

I also close my eyes on lower doses, I'm not really very interested in what happens in my room I would much rather delve deeply into the rabbit hole.

On occasion I will smoalk outside and then I will sometimes keep my eyes open.

Personally I think keeping your eyes open is missing the point.

Most often closed eyes as that's where most of the magic happens, but it really is also crazy how on breakthrough doses when one opens the eyes it can be just as crazy with open eyes. But mostly for me it's all about the "internal magic"

A bit of both. I often start the trip with closed eyes, and open them at some point, not that it makes much difference most of the time. It's just an impulsive thing for me...

I keep my eyes open as much as possible, when I close my eyes I feel like I'm missing out on the visuals and cowering from what the trip has to offer visually. I also can't imagine sitting in the dark doing it, dark undefined objects sometimes dirty up the visuals so I look to towards the light and get enveloped in it. I don't know why some people see the DMT trip as an opportunity to reflect on themselves, I think that kind of contradicts the concept of 'ego death', I can't think of anything while flying at a million miles a second, I just try to remember as much of it as I can.
Ever noticed an improvement in being able to mentally process information like diagrams since using DMT?

It's generally after the trip that the reflection occurs. Pretty much the definition of integration. To bring back what you learn from the experience and incorporate it into your life. Even ego death is an opportunity to reflect on how we build concepts in our minds and apply them to everything, even that concept that we call the 'self'.

But yes, I generally agree. The experience itself is too fast and chaotic to really have time for reflection. Blast off and enjoy the ride. Of course I'm just referring to smoked DMT all by itself. Mixing smoked DMT with Syrian Rue or taking it orally is a whole different experience.

As to the question of eyes open or closed for me it depends. I generally prefer eyes closed as I find it easier to drift into a visionary state but sometimes, if I panic (generally happens if I try to smoke without a sitter), I'll open my eyes trying to escape my trip and see the most bizarre things.

Just continue to experiment, experiment, experiment until you've either found one or the other that works for you in the best of ways or so as you can try and keep yourself open to as many kinds of experiences as possible.

I would stress that for myself personally, I've noticed that ok, let's say I have some DMT object floating 4 feet in front of me with my eyes open. If I close my eyes, that object (and all the other objects and entities relative to it) will be that same distance away from me in the same place. With eyes closed, the colors seem much more saturated, and there's obviously no mix at all from consensual reality (though I know everyone wants to chime in that at some level it doesn't matter). With eyes open, the holographic nature of hyperspace is more apparent. Everything appears a bit more translucent. The objects/entities/landscapes will definitely react and proceed differently however depending on whether eyes are open or closed for me. Open eyes can make for astounding examination of fine detail and depth and such, but in closing the eyes, it's leaving myself bare in their environment, and they sort of behave differently when they're the only thing you're focused on without other visual distraction.
