SWIM made a glass bulb and stem that should work well for spice vaporization. In fact, the first try 25m was a 1 draw breakthrough. However, 5 subsequent attempts of the same dosage yielded various degrees of success with no breakthroughs. In the stem is a copper plug upon which the spice was laid then another copper plug intended to diffuse the heat was placed on top of that. A cigar torch was used and various degrees of direct vs. indirect heat attempted. As you may be able to see, much of the spice melted and ran down the tube. The couple of questions I have are:

1. Might a small metal rod with a cotton tip dipped in alcohol be used to apply a cooler flame? A method used years ago for an altogether different substance... Perhaps also forgoing the top plug in order to hold the stem upside down to gain gravity's assistance in keeping the spice in the copper plug.

2. I have a concern about accurately ingesting the planned dosage once some of this goo runs up/down the stem. Upon reheating, this has the potential to melt back into the plug thus vaporizing and delivering a larger dose than intended, correct?

Or perhaps the best solution is to push the first plug lower in the tube and secure a second plug above it and the spice with a few millimeter gap to for temperature buffing...? Anyone?
