Hi everyone,
I'm Wasp, I'm from the UK, and I had an incredibly profound and important experience with DMT last night. I've been extracting DMT for about 2 years now, and I've always enjoyed it and found it to be a very special tool. However, I've never experienced anything quite like what happened to me last night before. Indescribable, magical, sublime. No drug has ever felt so incredibly right, as if it was always supposed to course through my blood and my brain. It was both gentle and fierce, breathtakingly beautiful, and when it was over, I was filled with a sense of deep gratitude and respect for this amazing substance. It was a tremendous privilege to have seen and felt what I did. I have gained a new enthusiasm and passion for DMT. I want to hone my technique, produce the very purest, finest product that I can, and I want to turn people on to the incredible power of spice.

I've only really done simple STB or A/B extractions with freeze precipitations or evaporations before, but I had been interested in salting out the DMT from the solvent (I found extracting mescaline to be hugely rewarding, and the salting phase was much of what made it so, it just seems to me to be a more elegant method), and now, with my renewed gusto and drive, I am determined to master the best techniques that the bright minds of this community have developed and, if I can, one day to help experiment and push forward our understanding of the process of producing the most incredible chemical known to man. I really look forward to participating in your community, and in progressing our collaborative efforts to treat this drug with the honour it demands.

Well, I've rabbited on enough, see you folks around the forum! Oh, before I forget, I post on Bluelight as Vader, I imagine that there might be a few friendly faces around here.

From England? Terrific!
I am simply beginning my journey and I have great respect for those who have seen the beauty in such a complicated topic. I have yet to experience the "bliss" many have explained, including my personage, Terence McKenna. I am ready, (or at least I believe I am) for the lessons I could learn from a psychedelic as powerful as DMT. I have taken small amounts, (<5g) of Psilocybe cubensis that I had grown using the Psilocybe Fanaticus Tek, and have enjoyed every second of it. Naturally my curiosity would lead me here. I am glad to read about someone who shares the passion. If it is not intrusive, I had a few questions for you if you could answer them. If so I would be very grateful.

#1. What/who first inspired you to explore the world of mind-altering substances?
#2. What have you learned, that is most important to keep in mind/or do, when it comes to an extraction?
#3. Is there a community/ies of "like minded" individuals in your area of England?

Thank you for joining and I look forward to learning from you! Peace.

Thanks for the warm welcome. In answer to your questions, Vc, I first became interested in mind-altering drugs when I was about 6 or 7. I read a pamphlet in a doctor's waiting room about drugs, and I remember being profoundly interested in LSD. It sounded incredible that a substance could cause such a profound shift in experience, and I asked my mother why on earth such a thing would be illegal. When I was 13 or 14, egged on by Bill Hicks, I first experienced psilocybe mushrooms, 55 fresh grams. It was an earth-shattering, life-changing, totally humbling religious experience. I never looked back. I have used mushrooms, LSD, mescaline, a host of different tryptamines, phenethylamines, arylcyclohexylamines, as well as cannabis, stimulants, opioids, depressants and inhalants, but DMT is the pinnacle for me.

When doing an extraction, the most important thing to remember is your safety. Don't rush, don't bodge, take your time and do things properly. Be prepared for the worst eventuality. Some time ago, I was setting up a separatory funnel with a basic solution. I was in a rush, I threw caution to the wind, and I filled the funnel, even though I knew in my heart that it was too heavy for the lab clamp. Suddenly, it fell and smashed. Black burning lye flew into my face. I had vinegar on hand, as I always do, and I was wearing goggles. Still, my nose and face were quite badly burned, and my goggles were spattered with brown mimosa stains. I am sure that, had I not been wearing eye protection, I would have been blinded that day, and most likely subsequently prosecuted. Be patient and cautious at all times.

I have a circle of friends who use psychedelics, and I would say that there are many switched on, like minded people in my area. Having said that, DMT is not for everyone. My friends love acid, ketamine, 2Cs, but no-one I know loves DMT like I do.

Anyway, enough about my boring self, let's hear about you. What is your story, and what brings you to the Nexus?

I have a more detailed summation of my motivations/motivators in my Welcome Post (https://www.dmt-nexus.me/forum/default.aspx?g=posts&t=34186) But suffice it to say, I have always been curious. I am a Scientist in Theory. I would like to explore the world of Cognitive Neuroscience, but have A LOT of learning to do yet. My main motivator for wanting to experience DMT was the information I received from Terence Mckenna. I thank him for fascinating me with his bardic musings on the topic of Shamanism and hallucinogenic and psychedelic substances. I thank Bill Nye for enticing me with science as a child. That's only two of many reasons I have reached this point. Most of all I thank my neocortex and the thousands of years of hereditary evolution that backs up my fascination with it. Other than that I'm a day-to-day student and psychonaut. It's interesting to meet someone who has experienced so many substances and I look forward to discussing things with you. Thanks for your reply!
