Hi. I've been a member since the night I stumbled across this wonderful forum, but this will be my first post of any sort. I've enjoyed scouring through myriad experience reports, read up on different teks, and done alot of pondering.
The main reason that I haven't posted anything is that I haven't taken this strange journey yet. In fact, it may be quite some time before I have the opportunity to do so. In the meanwhile, I'm gathering as much information as possible.
My past experiences with pyschedelics are as follows.
Somewhere in the area of 200 rides on the L train. Typically two tabs per.
A handful of mushroom trips, usually about 3.5 grams per.
Two grams of 40x Salvia. Now THAT stuff was interesting. I really liked going from 0-60 in the space of an exhale, and the mindbending things that transpired. That's why I'm so interested in this prospect.
As far as my thought life is concerned, I enjoy reading theoretical physics, and Rumi's poetry. In the past, I studied several different philosphies and religions, taking the pieces that clicked with me from each, and built a house of cards.
But then, life handed me a wind storm, and that lovely house toppled. Boom.
The end? Hardly. I'm fascinated by the human experience, with its dramas and passion plays, although the general state of our world gets me down sometimes, so much so that I avoid watching the news most days. In fact, I avoid television in general. Not good for the spirit, I say. But to spread love and joy, simply by being, and smiling a genuine smile at a stranger passing by... that is priceless, and does a body good.
So, here I am, having just celebrated my 40th birthday, two young children to raise into responsible, LOVING adults, thinking that maybe it'll be a decade or so before I feel the time is right to begin my experiments. And yet, I am drawn to you, to THIS. It's as though there is an event just beyond the horizon, waiting for me, and I for it. What it is exactly, I can't say, but it seems to have something to do with hyperspace. That was, after all the title of my first exposure to theoretical physics...
