For those of you familiar with Twisted records (The home of Shpongle!) and the bands that are part of it, Ott has rounded up a few musicians to bring you a 'Live in Concert' experience for his music. If you like both Shpongle and Ott already but weren't able to attend any of Shpongle's three 'Live in Concert' appearances here last year, here's a chance to see and here something just as unique!

Tour dates are set for North America and are only vaguely mentioned as being 'of the eastern US, with a west coast tour to follow shortly after. Whether Canada will get some love or not is unknown. All dates are set to be released on July 10.

Official blurb:

Quote:

Ott and The All Seeing I is a live four piece band performing material from ‘Blumenkraft’, ‘Skylon’, and ‘Mir’. Featuring Ott (electronics), Naked Nick (vocals, guitar, synths, and percussion), Chris Barker (bass), and Matt White (drums), the band captures all the intricate glory of Ott’s electronic sets, but augments them with a raw power and spontaneity which propels the songs to another level.

Naked Nick is responsible for guitars and vocals on many of Ott’s best loved songs such as ‘Adrift in Hilbert Space’, ‘The Aubergine Of The Sun’, and ‘The Queen Of All Everything’.

Chris Barker is the other half of Umberloid and has provided bass on Ott, Hallucinogen in Dub, and Sphongle albums.

Matt White is a drummer of some 25 years of experience who first played with Ott and Chris Barker in their first band as teenagers way back in the late 1980’s.

Together, they are Ott and The All Seeing I.

I'm so stoked for this. I'm hoping there are a few shows close enough for me to go see. I can't wait for the 10th!

I hope I get to see some of you there. Peace and Happy Tripping to Ott!

I agree. I buy tickets for the non-live band stuff even though I've never gone, so that they make enough to bring the live band over. Just remember that the live band dates don't start until October.

Edit- All dates posted. Initial KY date was either old/or fake. Boulder show is on the 13th, not the 3rd. East Coast, Midwest, and South dates only so far. Initial opener is Govinda through the 16th, followed by Papadosio afterward.

Went and saw Ott back in March. He was playing at a little club downtown that only charged a $10 entry fee. I actually wanted to talk to him after the show, but never got the chance. He's definitely worth the expenditures to go see him perform.

I'll be traveling to OH for the Rootwire festival set that isn't listed in the tour dates. Btw Rootwire is going to be amazing. I'm hoping I'm going to be able to hit up the Knoxville show but I'll definitely be at the Athens, Atlanta, and Nashville shows as well. If you're going to any of those u should drop me a pm. Would love to meet some fellow Nexians.

None of the shows prior to October 3 are All Seeing I live band shows, which is what I made this for and what I'm particularly excited about. Big grin

Glad you guys are going to see Ott, though. Have fun! Thumbs up

How was rootwire? I wanted to go so bad but i ended up having to go to north carolina instead.

I live very close to where they were having rootwire. I hear its pretty small but i'd prefer the smaller show honestly. Maybe i'll get to go next year! i hope!

Big grin

Ott posted some recent rehearsal clips on Bandcamp and a short video on YT.

Sounds good! I'm looking forward to 1.5 weeks to go by, and I genuinely hope they play 'The Aubergine of the Sun'...I will be indescribably thrilled if they do.

Horrid footage, but the sound is well enough to get me excited!

'The Aubergine of the Sun' performed at Club 39 at the NYC show.

I'm essentially a hermit, and don't get to very many concerts each year. Tomorrow, I will be dancing my butt off as I marvel at the sounds of Ott making love to my ears Big grin

I hope to see some of you there. Much love <3

Aside from the Bottom Lounge being in a cruddy area so early in the morning, the performance that the Ott, Chris, Nick, and Matt put on was highly enjoyable and very tight.

I was unable to capture any video because I was back right in front of the board and I lacked a tripod, however, I was able to put a little more effort into capturing some audio because of the venue's acceptance of taping, so I was able to get the microphones much higher than usual.

I can upload and share the entire show, but here's a sample of 'Squirrel and Biscuits'.

The set was Mir heavy, with seven of the twelve songs performed that night coming from it, but it was still most excellent! Here's what was played:

Daisies and Rubies
One Day I Wish to Have This Kind of Time
Adrift in Hilbert Space
Owl Stretching Time
Signals from Bob
The Queen of All Everything
Squirrel and Biscuits
The Aubergine of The Sun
Joyful Wonder
Splitting an Atom
Rogue Bagel
Mouse Eating Cheese

Govinda was better than I expected, but his set dragged on a little long for an opener at just under one hour. Ott's set went for about one and one half hours. Hopefully some of you have attended or will attend one of these shows, whether this month or early next year, as it's definitely worth it!

Much love and good vibes to Ott, Chris Barker, Naked Nick, and Matt White.

I had a great time. However, I enjoyed Govinda's set much more than Ott's. The energy was amazing during Govinda's set, and I was having a beautiful experience on about 300 micrograms of some amazing LSD.

I was so stoked for Ott and the rest of the band, but from the start, it just seemed like they weren't really into it. Just about every time I started to groove on a song, they would stop and move on to the next one. As astal-lark said, I also would have preferred to hear less from Mir.

All in all, a great time, but I expected much more from Ott.

i had a good time.. especially when someone gifted me a stick of santo palo and a crystal :]

but like entheogenadvocate, they just didn't seem to into it the night i saw them. the bassist was cool, especially how synthy he made his sound.. but the guitarists part was just sort of repetitive and bland..and the drummer looked like he was going to fall asleep. the chemistry between them just wasn't really there at the time

but i guess its hard to suddenly fit Ott's stuff into band format and really make it gel in such a short amount of time. But i'm really looking forward to hearing what new material they come up with this winter though when they put together a new album like ott said
