Blue Lunar- wow, epic. Just crazy. The color piece in particular is mind boggling. Lotta hours in those! Are you familiar with Mati Klarwein's work?

MelCat- nice; clever and beautiful.

Thank you! Yes, I love Mati Klarwein. A major influence for sure.
At least one other person has compared my work to his, which is humbling & gratifying because I certainly don't consider myself to be in his league. Give me another 20 years though... Wink

a few of mine...

First one is an attempt to recreate the feeling of the DMT chamber. I know it falls short in many ways but it's the most involved DMT painting I've done yet.

The second one is intended to recreate an LSD peak on a gorgeous September afternoon.

Third one is a close-to-verbatim image from a psilohuasca trip. I was looking at a smaller, simpler painting of mine, similar subject, during my peak... and saw this.

I'm totally blown away by your art.

Blue Lunar, your artworks are awesome! I especially like the black and white one.

Is there any reason why one of the character has a green head though? It kinda breaks the ambience for me (just saying)

Can't wait to see more.

Gosh, I'm speechless.

Collaboration of man and nature... Don't know which is my favorite. They're all so different and amazing. The one that has the nautilus shell markings is truly awesome.

NickyNack: that's a great place to start- good free form flowing designs, and an intention to grow.

As a professional artist and art teacher, my advice:

1) get a nice sketchbook so you're not drawing on notepaper

2) use it every day, even if for only a few minutes

3) what matters most I'd that you practice every day. It can be rough or unfinished. But draw as much as you can.

4) try taking a figure drawing workshop and draw from the live human figure. You will learn all about natural flow that way, along with a lot of other good art habits

5) don't get discouraged! It can be a long but very fun process.

Rederadnixon: thanks! Posting a new one in about 3 weeks, possibly my trippiest yet.

That is amazing deada! Such a cool concept, I've never seen anything like it. Do you draw all of your images?

Thanks man.. Yeah first I draw a rough sketch of the idea, then I draw it more detailed, and then I just transfer it to photoshop.. So 90% of the work is actually done in photoshop, with the colors and shading. I have plenty more stuf coming soon...

Nice, I need to get better at tracing my drawings in photoshop. It always ends in disaster...
I just noticed the contrasting symmetries on yours, great job!

Here's my DMT-face..

Shocked

No but seriously, here's my DMT-face. I tried to combine some of the elements of how it feels to me, into a nice little packet. Like my body fragmented into a million sections, thoughtloops with alien glyphs spiralling around, eyes seeing nothing but jewels, breath becoming a cosmic wind, speaking in a rainbow language, feeling an endless piercing love, and all the while floating in space with no idea which part of the universe each of those things are happening in...

In short, it's like you get scrambled all over the universe and all your senses just become a part of the flow.. with some weird extra senses in the mix..

Now I'm off to have fun with my 2 favorite mothers, mother nature and mother aya..

You definitely have your own unique style developing. This one is really effective- great mix of 2D and 3D, very impacting effects.

The big yin yang was great too. Sort of in the same vein as Alex Grey's Gaia. If I can comment, though: I think you could have made all the little characters, machines, mountains etc. a lot bigger... 60-80% bigger... Which would have allowed you to have more fun rendering them, make them more visually interesting... And do more things with overlap, to give the scene a more dynamic sense of depth. As it stands it's just a little sparse... Too much background, too little foreground. Otherwise, it's a great concept.

Really digging the new stuff!

Finishing my new painting tonight... Will post when I can.
