I've been haunting this and other forums for about a year now, soaking in as much knowledge as possible. With much help from this forum I completed my first San Pedro mescaline extraction last year, and was hooked; subsequent experiences have been beautiful and mentally altering. I hope to soon begin preparing for an ayahuasca journey, and I intend to be fully prepared, so it seemed appropriate to join this forum and become a part of the community.
I love the atmosphere here, and very much look forward to bouncing ideas off some of the seasoned vets. My intent is to sample as much of nature's psychoactive bounty as possible; I plan to methodically work my way from one entheogen to another, and make sure to approach each one properly so I might reap the fullest of experiences.
I hope before too long to be a fully fledged psychonaut, and look forward to making the journey with you guys.

Welcome to the Nexus! Was the pedro fresh or dry ? Did you get decent yields? Welcome to the Nexus gerterus, it's good to have you here. I'm interested in your cactus reports as well. Do you grow your own? Have you only experienced extracted mescaline or a full spectrum journey? I don't have any experience with cactus yet, but I'm really looking forward to it. I've recently started a cactus garden, so I'm hoping the love I put into them now will come back to me when the time is right. I got 12" cuttings for my extractions, dried and powdered them myself. The two extractions were each of abut 150g powdered material.
Yields were decent each time, for early attempts. A little over 3 grams of amber mescaline acetate (followed 69ron's d-limonene tek, withot MEK wash) was recovered in each; it proved to be impure, probably less than 50% active, but accordingly adjusting dosage produced a brilliant experience. 1 gram of the impure product produced long lasting, euphoric feeling and a distracting appreciation for beauty and music, while 1.5 rocketed into the realm of mild, very pleasant open-eyed visuals, along with mesmerizing CEV's and an intense sense of well being.
Nothing I've tried but psilocybin has come close to the beautiful calm mescaline imparted, and I'm extremely excited after spending more time here, reading about others' tweaks of the tek. I know I can improve the process and my yields by application of more of my organic chemistry knowledge, as opposed to following a tek to the letter. pH monitoring in particular will be more focused on in the future. My order of Peruvian Torch has me itching to break out the sep funnel again.
As for ayahuasca, for now I intend to obtain some MHRB and B. Caapi to brew after I've experimented with mescaline to satisfaction. I'm interested in smoking DMT and Changa as well, but to a lesser extent. Any knowledge and advice on this subject that any of you might pass along would be much appreciated.
