Hello everyone,

Just curious as to any knowledge you guys may have pertaining to..

1. Defatting, and it's importance.

I've been defatting myself before basifying the mimosa as taught in Vovin's tek as well as my laboratory based methods.

Do you guys find this to harm the final product? More/less pure than a method like BLAB? Any feedback is appreciated

(just wanna hear whether you guys pull during the acidic phase but before basification and why you find it important or vice versa)

2. Is there a difference in results when pulling acetate versus freebase?

I know that Vovin's pulls freebase while a BLAB pulls Acetate. Acetate is the salt (edible) and Freebase is the oil (smokeable) but other than that, is there any significance to pulling the vinegar and evaporating from there besides getting edible product first? The other option would be to pull and evaporate the solvent to crystallize.

I found this page that answered many of my questions. I think I will be taking a strictly acetate route from now on.
