I have been carefully researching DMT for a while now and am finally at the right place in life to accept the power of DMT.I want to first of all say thanks for all of the valuable information I have learned from you all.I am on here for hours at a time just reading everyone's post regarding their DMT experiences.I am a artist from Kansas City MO and I put this song together speaking about DMT,I tried to be as accurate as possible hopefully I achieved that!
Some of you may have seen the visuals already but I hope you enjoy!
Please watch in 1080p if your computer can handle it

Just wondering, how come so many "DMT songs" are in the rap genre?

Well to be honest the rap genre has kind of always been know to think a little outside the box and not follow rules.I feel over the last few years people in the rap world are starting to open up to a lot more to things that may have been considered taboo a few years back.I think a few of the DMT rap songs that have came out recently such as the one by Ab Soul are more of a sign of rebellion and a way to educate his listeners.I am sure not all of them really know about DMT or have tried it , possibly just heard about it and think its cool to rap about because of the legality of it. Thanks for the kind words everyone!

Spontaneously words just start firing off in my mind, needing to be voiced, sometimes it even gets written down or sung. Come on, the linguistic nature of dmt is widely commented upon. Of course rap would be an obvious meaning....despite the ego driven and selfish nature of so much typical rap, the genre is almost a perfect fit. I like this song, thank you for sharing it with us! The beat is dope. I like the way the spoken bits contrast with the rapped parts. The spoken stuff sounds very humble, in comparison to the rapping, which, to me (merely because of the tone of the delivery) does come off a little less humble than the dmt experience seems to warrant. This is something that I have heard in much dmt rap songs. I did click the convert to mp3 button--I'm with Walter on this one, some of the best psychedelic rap I've heard man. Wow there are some very intelligent and eloquently speaking people on this site you include.I completely agree with what you said regarding the tone/humbleness in most DMT rap songs.I would of never even thought about that if you did not bring it up.I am sure it will be much more noticeable upon my first experience I am expecting to be humbled. Oh I forgot to mention as well in the description of the video there is a download link for the song!

tele wrote:Just wondering, how come so many "DMT songs" are in the rap genre? To me this is because rap always seems to cut to the chase of what they want to say. Disregarding the need to linguistically represent the dmt experience as Bedazzle spoke about. Rap sings about the game, it does not seem to sugar it up or make it any more poetic then what they are thinking. So if a rapper is going to do dmt, he is most likely going to sing about dmt and his experiences. How it changed his life. While other genres of music are more poetical, or symbolical. So the other genres aren't going to come right out and be like "man I smoked this dmt last night", "changed my life". They are going to sort of sidestep that part and just sing about how life is a mystery. The Unknown = A Place to Learn

Wow Really suprised with this - love the whole package man The beat is well dusty and dreamy (the horns! ) Nice vocals / lyrics & the sampled sections ( Narby ? hehe ) are a good contrast. Teamed with the video ( never seen that before - except in my head ...big thumbs up from me, deserves viewing / listening

So I listened to this song a second time the other day...and found myself not liking it so much. I tracked down this thread. WOW. We let this guy off too easy...did anyone notice that before disappearing, he admitted to never having tried dmt before. WTF? I guess as a poetic exercise one might compose a verse or two upon subjects of which one know nothing....but to write a full song, record it, put it on youtube, and then come to the nexus trying to self-promote... All for a song about dmt, which you've never tried. The word "real" should not be in your name.
