"The results suggest that the inhibition of MAO activity by compounds present in tobacco smoke may combine with nicotine to produce the ..."

Has anyone looked into this?

I've seen a few rituals that involve drinking tobacco liquid...

..hi Donline..the main MAOI in tobacco (more of it in smoke) is believed to be Harman (now tghought to be as potent, or more so, than Harmine in in-vivo tests)
many of the old South American 'shamanic' traditions say tobacco is their no.1 visionary plant..certainly it enhances the effects of ayahuasca..
see Tobacco as a Sacred Medicine thread for more on it's shamanic/hallucinogenic usage..
.
ps. Nicotiana rustica, the true shamanic 'tobacco' (as opposed to the common commerical Nicotiana tobaccuum which we know) has quite a few more distinctive alkaloids than it's western exploited cousin..

Interesting this was posted. I have a lot of extra spice and have been experimenting with tobacco/DMT cigarettes and I have found that my experiences seem to last quite longer than without the tobacco.

Could just be placebo though Razz
β€œThe most compelling insight of that day was that this awesome recall had been brought about by a fraction of a gram of a white solid, but that in no way whatsoever could it be argued that these memories had been contained within the white solid. Everything I had recognized came from the depths of my memory and my psyche. I understood that our entire universe is contained in the mind and the spirit. We may choose not to find access to it, we may even deny its existence, but it is indeed there inside us, and there are chemicals that can catalyze its availability.”

Thanks nen888

B.Caapi is a little hard to get hold of so I was thinking of brewing a Syrian Rue/Nicotiana rustica drink to help block the MAO... for when I try a P.Viridis brew

@Kory
Yea I also had a failed attempt when mixing tobacco and Ayahuaska (Smoked)
well I say failed... felt minor effects that lasted 1-2mins

Why not a Rue-Only drink? Tobacco is more toxic, mostly because of the nicotine, and overdosing with a tea would be more likely than by smoking... I mean, in order to ingest the harman you have to take nicotine, while the Rue has no nicotine equivalent and is proved to work great. Specially for a first time, imo.

Yea that sounds like a better way to go, I read somewhere that MAOI's can last for hours or weeks depending the thing you take, which could be a problem seeing as I wont be able to eat a whole list of foods until the effect had passed..

I was assuming "Rue" is the more potent vs tobacco, made me think a 50/50 mix might lower the timeframe. Suppose I should just deal with it, and keep things simple..

1g Rue (Mckenna) to block MAO Thumbs up

I have also melted some spice on to cigarettes and shared it with friends and while it's not a very economic method for a breakthrough (being modest hereBig grin ) it is a highly enjoyable little trip lasting for a very nice 20 minutes. I used American Spirit rolling tobacco. I'm sure that a lot of the spice ended up in the mouth end of the cigarette. For those who don't have any changa or harmalas but like to spice up lsd, mushroom, or aya journeys this may work well for you or be somewhat wasteful. I'm a noob but I noticed a good synergy between tobacco and spice. As long as you aren't down to your last bits and you've got some decent tobacco I would highly recommend giving it a go. Put all your spice in the half of the cigarette that gets lit but leave ten percent just tobacco for lighting purposes and so as not to waste too much. This is a very good method for giving people a little taste of what spice has to offer without just blasting they asses into space.
