Hello, I would recommend everyone acquire Carlos Santana's "Divine Light" album and set aside enough DMT or Changa for a good hour long journey, listening to this album from start to finish. You won't regret it.

Cheers

If anyone is interested in checking it out, I have set up a drop box account under the e-mail changaspice@gmail.com for the nexus to use that you can log in to and download the album. Please PM me for the password. And feel free to upload any other albums or songs that you feel are good hyperspace tracks as well for interested Nexians.

Cheers!

Why do you call it a DMT album? Because you feel it enhances the DMT experience, or because it has to directly with DMT?

I'm talking about an unbelievably cohesive album of music that guides the journey in a spectacular way. So I guess yes because it enhances the DMT experience. I feel the "Divine Light" album I mentioned is particularly magical. Every time I journey with it, it provides a unique new experience that I feel narrates all my movements, anticipating my thoughts in a way that is simply unexplainable. Thats the best I can describe it Smile

I like santana's music alot, but this album has too much shredding and hectic moments IMO, something I dislike musically in this case and especially considering how hectic the shredding gets I would not try to listen to it while smoalking.
I'm a guitarist myself and I love guitar music when smoalking, but this album is too hectic for my taste. If you like chilled out guitar tunes there are alot of great artists, for example govi, shahin & sepehr, chieli minucci etc. etc.

Interesting opinion. I think this album spaces out quite a bit, especially compared to Santana's other works. But I prefer venturing off to music with a little bit of a kick, compared to the more ambient sounds that a lot of other people seem to prefer.

Divine Light isn't a Santana album.

It's a Bill Laswell album. The source material may be Santana (& McLaughlin), but this is distinctly a Laswell album. He did the same thing before. Remixing Miles Davis. I love Illuminations and Love Devotion Surrender, but remixing them seems arrogant to the point of sacrilege. Check the originals out if you haven't already.
I would never be able to listen to those albums or the remix on dmt. Maybe lsd. I prefer no music, or ambient music that is barely there... although As Falls Witchita, So Falls Witchita Falls by Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays was a go to for lighter changa mixes.

Random Album Title. Deadmau5. I could literally listen to that album on repeat for the rest of my existence and never grow tired of it. It gives me goosebumps still to this day. It sends shivers up and down my spine. It floods me with emotion. I never knew what music really was or could be until I was turned onto Deadmau5 in 2008. That's why my avatar is a Mau5 Head. That's why I've actually paid for his music. That's why I attend his performances whenever he enters my vicinity and only his. In it's simplicity lies the beauty and majesty of his music. There will always be haters and detractors, and the spigot of criticism will never fully close, but there will only be one Deadmau5. I would likely have never been turned onto psychedelics if not for his music and the feelings that it has inspired. It is the highest compliment I can pay any artist. I played and trained in classical violin before I began listening to his music, and that and classical music are my favorite genres. If you don't listen to his music, obviously I highly recommend it. It takes some getting used to as does anything that is truly worthwhile in life, but I promise 100% satisfaction.

Haha I just threw that in there to see if anyone actually read that all. I also was mistaken when I initially saw this thread, thinking that we were naming our favorite "DMT" albums and not realizing the OP was giving his own personal recommendation. I will indeed give it a listen.

Yes, this album is a remix/combination of the two Santana albums you mentioned from the 70's. It is Santana's music though, and I feel "Divine Light" did a great job combining the best elements and tracks from those albums. Although remixed by Laswell, I still feel Santana's soul presence in the album above anything else.

Thanks for the recommendation, do you have a specific Deadmau5 album you would recommend most for a trip?

I did mean this thread as a way to hear other people's suggestions, and I hope we can share some music through the Dropbox account I set up as a sort of community nexus account. Please note that I have changed the log in info in my original post so it will be easier to remember. I also changed the title of the thread to better reflect the idea of sharing opinions on good albums to check out while exploring hyperspace.

Cheers!
