I have been using an expensive torch lighter to use with my GVG, but then used a regular Bic since I ran out of fuel for the torch...it seemed as though the regular lighter produced more smoke than the torch...I wonder if the torch lighter is too hot and is burning/wasting some of the DMT? Anyone have any similar experiences and think that maybe a torch lighter is too hot for the GVG? Thanks. Don't quote me on this, I have little experience with GVGs. But I have read that a bic can be better. Torch lighters to me are more for meth/crack pipes. Where with a GVG that would be too hot. The Unknown = A Place to Learn

Yes, I've noticed the same thing. I really couldn't get much vapor with the torch then when I switched to the bic it worked like a charm

Torch always worked great for me. I would heat the glass slightly and work my way up and heat the top up good before I start inhaling/not applying the torch directly to it when inhaling. The lighter never worked for me too good for me. I have an overactive imagination, and am certifiably insane. So anything I post is purely fictional.

I only use a Bic with my gvg.. Had a torch when I got it but I was not pleased with the results and have not used a torch now in over a year and a half and over 200+ launches. i have tried both the torch and a bic both with good results just slightly varying techniques. the torch i would apply the flame a little further away and would begin to toke right away since it was so hot and vaped the dmt so quickly. with a bic i always give it a 3-5 second pre melt and then begin to slowly rip it sometimes taking 2-3 lesser but cloudy inhales where with the torch it would be at most 1 or 2 inhales both worked great but my torch broke so ive stuck to bic lighters since and am loving it lol i think; therefore i AM

For me and many others torch lighter is the way to go, but it takes some practice to apply the correct amount of heat. It also doesn't have soot buildup problem like regular lighters have, and the flame is steady. If one can get more vapor with bic than with a torch then the problem is with the users technique

It also depends on the torch. Most torch lighters can be god terrible for use with a GVG from a number of frustrations, but with a good torch like an Arc Turbo torch, I can't even compare. I used to use a bic, and it has nothing on my torch. "Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind" - Albert Einstein

Thanks everyone! Maybe because of impatience/anxiety I am forcing the torch to heat too fast, and so maybe for me a Bic is more predictable. I will just have to experiment with both! Let the experimentation start!... Meditate before you venture, take it seriously, use it as medicinal—it is good psychotherapy if needed.
