Hello everyone. Thank you for having me.
I am rather very new to interaction with psychedelic substances, my only psychedelic experiences being with salvia divinorum (however I often socially induce marijuana, even though that is not psychedelic). I am interested to eventually try DMT, however I understand that I need a lot more mental preparation with other substances first. It helps that I was already willing to try these substances anyway. Nevertheless, I am extremely captivated by the stories I hear of DMT and, more specifically, ayahuasca (which I believe would be my preference over the two).

My username comes from a recent psychedelic experience I encountered whilst under the influence of the Diviner's Sage. I felt as if my subconscious awoke and, instead of my regular self experiencing the effects, my innermost being was the one to take these experiences. It was a realisation of what I have dubbed my 'second self'; a physical manifestation or personification of my subconscious that is the only one to have these experiences, whilst my 'regular self' was left down on Earth. Perhaps this is always what happens when under this substance (and maybe others, I don't know), but I have only now just started to become more aware of it; I have only now just started to realise its presence as more than simply a sleeping state of mind within myself but more of an unlock-able and interactive 'reflection' or 'resonance' of my current conscious self. From what I have read over the years, perhaps this is the state of mind traditional shamanic priests supposedly experience from ritualistic actions.

I don't know if what I just said made any sense, but I hope I qualify. Razz

Many thanks for the knowledge. Smile

Welcome SecondSelf!

You do bring to light a couple of points that we could relate with. We feel as you do, that there is a resonance or reflection of oneself within that can be accessed through the use of many different kinds of tools.

Now if we understand correctly, you still have yet to try this magnificent tool of DMT? While we do not discourage you by any means for the pursuit of expanding yourself and expanding your knowledge, we would challenge you to consider the potential possibility of a very life-changing experience. We wish we could say more with words and describe this, but unfortunately one can barely describe the feeling and enlightment this tool can potentially provide.

We do not use this example with intention to scare you away from the experience, but we just want to communicate that the intensity is something that can be handled by some, but also at the same time, some are not ready for that doorway to be opened.

If you feel you are ready though, have fun, because you're going to be in for one heck of a ride! It is unlike anything you have ever encountered! Smile

Many thanks for the warm and insightful response! Yes I have yet to try DMT, but as I was saying, I'm deeply willing to do so. But because of my relative inexperience with psychedelics at present, I'd quite like to work myself up to it gradually, so I know I'm fully prepared Smile I intend to have a few more instances of stronger salvia divinorum doses, and then mushrooms for a while. I'm sure I will be ready before I know it, though. Smile

Thanks again! Nice to meet you!

welcome second self!
I have definitely felt like a different person after salvia experiences and I have dubbed it "sage mode" (thanks to naruto Razz). Im not to sure what exactly it is or what it means but Im sure the puzzle peices will fall in place in due time. As for you needing more preparation for DMT, It wouldnt hurt and ultimatley its up to you to asses how grounded you are but it wouldn't hurt to start out with a low dose of AYA Razz
anyway welcome to the nexus!

Thank you, ayalove! Nice to hear that others have experienced similar things when under the Sage. Also your name for this experience is much cooler than my own, despite its geeky undertones Razz

Perhaps a small dose of ayahuasca is indeed the best approach, but I will see where life takes me naturally. Smile Thank you for the tip, and once again for the welcome!

Welcome to the Nexus, SecondSelf,

Psychedelics are quite strong medicine and can be wonderful eye-openeers, tools or aids in many respects. The experiences are with some comparable, sometimes, and other times no... i'm not sure one substance can prepare you for another, nor that one experience can prepare you for the next, especially when it comes to DMT... but also for example with mushrooms.

If you are determined to try DMT I suggest trying DMT... starting with low doses. slowly touching upon the altered state of mind ... maybe vaporizing small amounts in the beginning. If you are interested in mushrooms, try them, by all means, but rather for the experience in itself... because they are powerful and worth the experience, and they are much more than a "training" for dmt or ayahuasca.

Generally I like the idea to see where life takes you naturally, so I think you'll be fine and well on your way to wherever it is the universe wants you to be.

Take care

Thank you, Enoon. I do indeed intend to try other psychedelics for their experience themselves as well, don't worry. Perhaps going for small doses of DMT, or maybe ayahuasca, first work and working my way up. Thank you for the advice Smile

Oh oh another note; what are people's thoughts on peyote? I know very little about it myself, but with it being another psychedelic I'd be interested to hear what people have to say about it.
