the idea here is for people to take a small sample of their finished brews and precipitate out the harmalas, then potentially isolate any tryptamines available so that they/we have an idea of how potent each brew is vs the effects gained

currently i have 1.67 lb of black caapi that was boiled down to 1 gallon from 20 gallons and a week of 5 different brews, when its totally decanted and a pure solution ill take a portion and extract it to see how concentrated it is so i may know the appropriate dose.

additionally i have an old bottle of highly acetic aya made with black caapi and chacruna, however it was such a pitiful brew that its nearly intolerable and even after several full cups into a 2 cup bottle it is still acidic... im wondering if i can ever neutralize it....

update

the super acidic aya was bassified but due to frequent stirring it was not apparent that the harmalas had precipitated (it kept dissolving sodium carbonate so i kept mixing it in)

it is yielding a substantial amount of precipitates and foam on top of the solution
the solution was siphoned off with pippete and baster and was pulled with dlimo
are the tryptamines fully freebased with washing soda? given the solution was free of insoluables and had decanted for months before any experimentation of this nature had been initiated. the resulting solution is pitch black and seems to have colored the dlimo significantly already.

i guess the foam on top was plant oils that became insoluable when the ph was raised, so i made sure not to include the foam in the extraction process, it will be discarded.

the harmalas were given substantial water to allow for another decant decreasing the contamination of the alkaloids upon dehydration

the 1.67lbs of black caapi was let decant over night and left behind a sludge, the sludge was acidified with fumaric acid and filtered finely. the acidic solution was bassified with washing soda and alowed to sit, precipitates are already forming
