Well i brewed up some mimosahuasca last night
i had 3.5 grams of syrian rue seeds and 10 grams of mimosa hostilis bark
did three simmering boils for 30 minutes each with 1000 mg vitamin c in each boil then that was reduced down to a shot
the syrian rue seeds were grinded and parachuted
i had very little effects couldnt tell if it was placebo or minor cev
the bark appears to be good quality a dark hue of purple shredded bark
any ideas of what could of went wrong?

i'm no expert but the only thing i can think of is you need to do more boils for longer. like maybe six or seven hour long boils. and on a side note you might want to boil 3.5 or 4 g's of syrian rue whole for like 5 or 6 boils (probably freezing them too in water just like you might also want to do with the mhrb) so as to not make you puke too early; and eat the resulting goo when you boil it down to reduce nausea from whole syrian rue which i hear you're not supposed to eat for mao inhibition b/c it will make you extremely nauseous.

does that help?

Boil longer.

We did the same thing, and the drink was not very potent at all.

I am not sure exactly what you were doing when you drain the water through the mimosa, but it might be a good idea to get a better container to put the cotton in. This was a big problem for us, because the container was too big. The water just poured through, instead of at a slow drip.

Good luck!

I had read about people doing 3x30 minute boils and being successful, but i was skeptical. But on aveerage I see 3x 3 hour boils. Would that be sufficient??

Some people might say that 3x3 is not needed. I feel opposite. 3x3 cooks are what I've always done making sure to keep the water level above the plant material throughout each 3 hour cook. Then combining all the cooks at the end and reducing to a shots worth roughly. And out of the 15 times that I've experienced Aya I've yet to have a weak brew.

(NOTE- Some like to brew everything together in the same pot but I've always brewed the two seperate and drank them separate..about 25-30 minutes apart.)

3x3 hours is sufficient for getting the majority of the alkaloids out of your vine. There may still be some alkaloids left, especially if you don't brew with acid. You can always save brewed vine for later extraction, if you want.

3x30 minutes generally refers to brewing of admixture leaves (chacruna/chaliponga), or at least, this is where I have always seen/heard it thrown around.

Hope that helps Smile
