SWIM has found that when extracting from mimosa via STB, the optimum solvent to use is 50/50 diethyl ether and naphtha. The ether seems to pull alkaloids very efficiently, and the solvent can be evaporated to half volume for freeze precipitation in a few hours. o/

he sakara

Do you have better yields then commonly reported (between 1 and 2%) or can you pull with less effort?
Why is adding ether better then just naphtha please elaborate a bit more.

safety note: ether is a bit dangerous

yes, ether is effective at pulling the simple tryptamine alkaloids, but not any more
than the less flammable ethyl acetate or nonflammable methylene chloride.

Thanks benz...
so a binary solvent made of naphtha and ethyl acetate might be worth a try?
