having less than a cursory knowledge of acacia extraction, i would presume that any tek that works for one acacia species would work for the rest (again i am not knowledgable in this subject, but unless there is something unique with the pycnantha species, it is hard to imagine any special technique required). best of luck to you. stb extraction will yeild next to nothing with any acacia species, i have tried a number of acacia's using a basic stb tek and with all failing, atb tek only for acacia's, the handbook is a good start when working with acacia, use hcl instead of phos and always do a post defat, never polar before basifying..

Yeah straight to base isnt suitable for acacia also you may want to pre-wash with 80%+ alcohol or ethanol bio-fuel pycnantha has a great deal of tannins and gum that can obstruct an extraction.

Phyllodes you can soak for 2 days in methylated spirits. Every so often, heat it to boiling and shake the shit out of it. then drain and let dry. You should do this technique to phyllodes if you want to prep them for use in changa Throughout recorded time and long before, trees have stood as sentinels, wise yet silent, patiently accumulating their rings while the storms of history have raged around them --The living wisdom of trees, Fred Hageneder

Allrighty then. It have succesfully interested an old friend who is a chemist, to assist me with a serious a/b extraction of the bark i harvested. I´ll be watching and discussing every step we take and hopefully we will be able to extract some alkaloids from the bark. Presumably the species of acacia is Acacia Pycnantha. We will first be executing the procedure on some bark which is sure to contain spice. This to make sure the procedure is good. I have some powdered mhrb that surely contains spice. We will probably use this unless someone has strong arguments for using acrb (which i will have to acquire then first). The first thing i´ve done is take 50grams of each (tree and rootbark) and shredded it, next i washed it and finally i put the wet bark in seperate containers and put it in the freezer. I will do three freeze/thaw cycles. Next i might soak it in alcohol as was suggested here. Any tips and ideas are welcome. The actual extraction will be done somewhere next week.
