It's funny you mention lucid dreaming, Hyperspace Fool. I've been trying to master this myself. I'm curious as to whether we tune into another reality when we dream and if the 'dream characters' we encounter are other dreamers/other beings in the 'Dreamscape'. I suppose it's quite similar to the DMT experience in many respects. I'm also considering ordering the new Remee LD glasses as this product might boost my chances of it happening.

I have very vivid dreams (never lucid) and can remember many details when I awake. If only I could become fully lucid I could test my hypotheses. Here are a few things I'd like to find out/do:-

1) Map the Dreamscape. I have started to do this as sometimes I re-visit places in my vivid dreams, but if I became lucid I could explore in greater detail. Humans have mapped the Earth, even the universe, so why not this?

2) As with Hyperspace, determine if the dream world is in fact another reality.

3) Question the dream characters and try to glean profound information from them. I've also wondered if it's possible to speak with higher intelligences, even God? Of course, like you said, you have to remember what was transpired.

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

Well, this is probably not the thread to talk about LD in detail, but hyperspace and lucid dreaming do have a lot in common vis a vis, navigation, philosophical implications, and shedding light on "reality."

As to whether the other characters in your dreams are other dreamers or independent entities or creations of your dreaming mind... the answer seems to be all of the above. This is highly dependent on what kind of dream you are in. There are very personal dreamscapes that tend to be predominantly projections of your subconscious mind... but there are also realms accessible to dreamers that are kind of "nexi" so-to-speak.

1) Mapping the Dreamscape is doable, but it will become obvious rather quickly why this is not a task you would really care to dedicate yourself to. A) Dreamworlds are infinite B) Places you need to return to are easy enough to find or will pull you there anyway C) There are literally an infinite # of more interesting realms out there for you to explore... and this is true no matter how cool the place you want to map seems at the time.

2) Good luck. Most of us come to feel this doesn't matter as this reality is not "real" either. The best we can do is try and formulate some criterion for judging the level of "realness" between various realms. This tends to be fairly obvious while in a given realm, but becomes rather fuzzy when thinking on realms you are not currently in.

3) This is fun. I would say the subjective answer to the second part of your question is yes... though like I have said above, good look proving it objectively to others.

Have fun with your Remee. I guess they will roll out this summer. Post a thread on it when you have had a chance to play with it. It is not a new technology as they claim, and there are other sleep glasses that flash lights at you when you are in REM. (some of them actually monitor your eye movement or EEG to accurately flash the lights) Remee only waits X amount of hours and then flashes at Y intervals. But it is reasonably priced, and seems to be popular.

Did you contribute to them on Kickstarter? I heard they raised a half million $.
"Curiouser and curiouser..." ~ Alice

"Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it." ~ Buddha
