I had the flu as a kid, what's the big deal? You get sick, you get better. I had it once and never again. Having had the flu once when I was 10 certainly doesn't make me want to run out and get a shot every year. I live well, I take care of myself, I don't worry about the flu or any other illness. I'm not naive, I know I can get sick, I just also know I that I won't get sick.

Like stated several times in this thread: flu shots are meant for people who are weak in health and those who are in higher risk of attracting flu. You also don't have to get a shot if you don't want to, no one is forcing you.

I know one person like you, very healthy and always on the lookout to take care of her body any way she can. She ended up in a wheelchair due to attracting a virus in a place where you would never expect it. Luckily for her she was strong enough to eventually work her way out of the wheelchair but she permanently lost the strength in her hands for the rest of her life.

p.s. I think that with your "healthy way of life" we can safely assume that you never visit an airport or actually any public spot? And that you don't come in contact with people who have either? Pleased

exactly.

it IS naive to think you can't get a serious infection from random places, just because you have some "healthy lifestyle" or "state of mind". while the mind is a seriously powerful tool, it can't necessarily protect you from everything nature throws at you.

I'll kick the horse again, you have the choice whether or not to get a vaccination...but don't kid yourselves thinking vaccinations are a grand conspiracy. Influenza A is a ubiquitous opportunistic pathogen, as commonplace as allergies. some people actually need the vaccines.

Not talking specifically about flu vaccine, but you cant generalize saying vaccines are never conspiracies because in some cases they can be, for example they made a bogus vaccination program in pakistan to look for the DNA of the population in search of bin laden's family DNA when trying to find him. Pakistan just arrested the doctor that was working with the CIA and was responsible for the fake vaccinations. That's a fact, not a conspiracy theory. Now I dont want to speculate on flu vaccines and certainly not turn this into a CT topic, and I do know that many vaccines are legit, but I just thought this was relevant to bring up.

What about potential dangers of vaccines, can anybody expand on that? Corpus, maybe you can say some things on it? For example what about mercury-based preservatives or other similar things added to vaccines?

And what is the chance that by reproducing a "deactivated" form of the virus and vaccinating a large parte of the population, you also increase the amounts of virus out there and consequently increase possibility that it mutates?

Not going to argue against mandatory vaccination for kids like tetanus, infantile paralisis etc. because those are good in my opinion.

Me being healthy & mid 20s, id never touch any pill, flushot, whatever. Especially not those vaccines/viruses which are all over the media like swine-flu etc. In my opinion these are Lab-, Man-made to some degree for corporate profits. Much like Monsanto does with their gene-manpulated maize, which pollinates other farmers normal maize so they can sue them for more profits later. You also have to buy seeds every year, because its designed to grow useless seeds (for profits). So you have products whos sole purpose is money.

Could an annual shot of some kind have prevented your friend's virus or was it just something that happened? I do not worry about things like that. If it happens, I'll deal with it, and be strong like her to fight off any offending viral invaders.

p.s. Yes, you are safe in assuming that I never visit the airport. The last time I was at an airport, I believe I was 8 years old, and I have no plans of going back. But, sure, I go out in public, but I have almost zero contact with anyone, ever. I'm very strange. I know I can breathe in or touch whatever illness people may harbor, but I also know that nature has more cures than any man made vaccine will ever have, and I look to what Earth places before me, rather than what humans would have me believe. I am very strange, and much like a DMT trip, you can't really understand where I am coming from, where I've been to lead me to this line of thought, or how I know what I know. But that's okay, that's a two-way street, isn't it?

what I understand is you are coming from a paranoid, nihilist place. I've known several people like that, who've had a lot of lsd, so it's not uncommon.

but you should realize that man doesn't produce anything that nature doesn't already provide the materials for. technically, everything comes from nature...including vaccines (they're derived from natural viruses)

Really?

If that makes me a paranoid nihilist, then I guess I'm a paranoid nihilist. Even though some of you people don't really understand what nihilism really means, and "paranoia" is a label you can throw on anybody.

Very happy

you're right, no one understands you. none of your posts reflect any semblence of a nihilist attitude or distrust with "human-made" products, it's all just a misunderstanding Rolling eyes

Well, that shoe would seem to fit, yes...

I've received the flu shot annually for as long as I can remember. Seems to work OK. Guess it's a USA thing.
