I won't get into too much detail here but I have OCD and was wondering IF any psychedelic could help with this anxiety disorder, and if so, which would you recommend?

i hear shrooms are good for that. i also have ocd. and right around the time i stopped taking lexapro (which i found out is AN ANTIDEPRESSANT) i found out weilii grew in my back yard and it's been a whole helluva lot easier since. they help you realize that the ability to say fuck it is nice.

does that answer your question sky motion?

Cannabis helped me to get over it(I didn't have severe OCD though). Even when at some point it made it worse, after that period I feel like it cured it totally. Seems like it kind of helped to block the nervous energies/thoughts and after long time enough using it the OCD symptoms vanished. I think even wikipedia mentions cannabis as potentially beneficial for OCD persons. I also believe that in some people OCD can be just a byproduct of stressful situations and can be triggered by anxiety causing from stress, therefore passing by like depression(altough this is only for some people). When people say OCD is for life then I say get a grip. After all it's just anxious thoughts. I believe chemical medicine isn't necessary for most people.
Some people have said shrooms have helped them, but I would make sure to stay then under 3,5 grams of cubensis if taking it as medicine.

I must add, that there is no drug that will heal OCD for good just like that, it is about slowly changing one's thinking and learning to reduce anxiety induced by thoughts. It is slow process but in my experience it's the only way and I must thank cannabis for it. Even when I don't smoke anymore I think it's great for the job. Shrooms can give some insight but in the long run they don't help much or at all in my experience.

Thanks for the input guys,

Shrooms have always been my go to medicine, even more-so than DMT. So I will begin to work with them again (it's been over a month).

Why should I stay under 3.5 grams though? Sometimes I feel it's the actual experience that heals you along with maybe some physical properties of the mushroom. I'm definitely no expert though.

EDIT: Cannabis is unfortunately out of the question.

I just think doses over 3.5g(normal cubes) can be too much for "healing", but do what suits best

EDIT: one tip for beating OCD is finding the root of anxiety and facing it as deeply as possible, as anxiety is the cause it's best to face it if possible and one can see it really isn't so bad. I know it's easier to say it... Good luck. I recommend you won't start using mushrooms as a medicine(can become even addictive as in one case in shroomery trip reports), but simply as a tool (that might help you face your root of anxiety and sort out what is OCD and why do you have it).

Well said, although I have a few theories on why I may have OCD I am definitely not sure, and am willing to work to find the root and sort things out.

Thanks tele!

Good luck. I believe also DMT can equally(referring to shrooms) or more help with it, due to it's general "healing" nature(well sometimesWink ), so you can try also oral DMT in a journey to the core of OCD. On some occasions even meaning facing deepest anxieties, after which normal OCD anxieties/thoughts will feel like nothing, possibly removing the issue totally. Just saying that it( "hyperspace" ) has many methods of healing(And ass whooping), so you never know what methods will the doc use. It sure as hell has been both gentle and tough on me on treating my probs and anxieties, like: Surprised Twisted Evil Sick Crying or very sad Stop Rolling eyes Smile Laughing Very happy Big grin Love

Facing ones fears may help empower one, but OCD isn't overcome as simply as that. OCD is a stubborn habit that's hard to break. It feeds on itself, and Shrooms are well known as being able to interupt and calm it down.

Good advice in overcoming OCD is to get out more, exercise daily, have a routine, and avoid Caffeine and spicy foods. When you feel OCD coming on, get up and get out!, let it burn itself out, lose yourself to talking to people, find better, more pleasurable things to do. Remember that OCD is not good, it's a bad habit that get's you nowhere, and by instead choosing to do better more pleasurable things you are empowering yourself and making a better decision you can be happier about.

Remember that no amount of OCD will ever help you or improve matters, quite the opposite. OCD is not only a bad habit that is annoying (because it makes you feel guilty for doing it when you know better), but it's also a form of Ignorance and lack of faith to reality.
Maybe shrooms come in great here, putting ones rigidity to rest as faith in the wholeness is reconfirmed?? Thumbs up

To be honest, i think we are all guilty of being a little OCD sometimes, and think it's normal to doulblecheck the taps are off, the cooker is off, in our "worrysome" modern age where not doing so could kill someone or mean costly repair bills. But over the topness is unnecessary, and that's where the "interupting" the negative habit comes in. Shrooms can help, and so can adjusting behaviours by choosing ones that disengage continuity.

Probably the best bit of advice is to make a checklist of your current life. Are you on top of the basics, and do you have stuff to do "planned in a diary and out of your head"??

If so, then why not make a new start and decide to really work at choosing to do what needs to be done, and when it is done to get out and do better things than be stuck indoors doing such negative uninspiring things that are totally anti growth. Get out of yourself, meet new people, do new things, there's more to life than being overclean and overorganised. Find the healthy middleground. WORK at it, sitting about is what causes the OCD! Wink

I know this well, but when you see the root of the anxiety, face it and see how it works it definately can help one overcome the problem, even if it doesn't work for everybody.
So basically being more conscious of what the problem is can help one to work a solution for it.

Yes, and to do this it's always good to return to ground zero, and start all over again. Questions like "am i truly living a life aligned to my dreams" should be wisely considered. Let's remind ourselves that we're spiritual being playing an earthy role. We havent been placed on this earth to live mediocre lives, if we know of a better life and have a choice.

Luckily most people that suffer from OCD are intelligent people who have the power and ability to change their behaviours= better feeling=less OCD.

OCD is like having an excess of nervous energy and dealing with it in a ritual of organisation. Caffeine and spicy foods can be responsible as can too much refined sugar. This leads to lack of sleep and a depressed state of mind and excess adrenal secretions which all conspire to run the person down. A great way to rebalance health is with a healthy lifestyle of daily workouts, balanced diet with healthy oils, and being careful about drinking reasonable amounts of Caffeine and sugary drinks, for example.

Get up in the morning and get out asap, don't waste the day indoors. Go for some exercise. Are you wearing cool clothes, is your place neat and tidy, do you have a social life, family and friends, is your job ok...are you sorted. Is your spiritual self happy with your current circumstances. If not why. What are you gonna do about it?

These are important things to consider. A serious OCD condition is saying out loud that the important things in life need attention, certainly not OCD routines. Life should be be enjoyable, and if it isn't then it needs some sorting out, and OCD isn't gonna help. Don't take promoting anxiety seriously, take doing what makes you happy and light and upbeat seriously instead!Wink

I agree.

If person is "naturally" of nervous type, it's good idea also to try to redirect the nervous energies, for example to a hobby or some kind of creative work.

Or better still, deal with the root cause, not run away with distraction.Cool
