hey guys heard a while ago about the proposal by the aussie government to try and ban a whole range of DMT containing Acacia species as well as mescaline containing cacti .. just wondering if anyone heard any updates about it? I haven't been able to find any info on the net about whether it was actually passed

Live plants. Sustainable, ethically sourced, native American owned.

..that was around March 2011, when public submissions on the proposal closed..since then nothing has been heard..perhaps submissions like the one from the Society for Growing Australian Plants Acacia Study Group helped them see the impracticality of such legislation..[see https://www.dmt-nexus.me/forum/d...m=319785&#post319785]..

Yes i live in Australia and nothing has surfaced since that first mention of the legislation.

PERSONALLY i think it is a desperate attempt at control and obviously a very immature one at that.

To try and ban The national PLANT which grows everywhere, it is childish.

What are they gonna do rip all of the trees out of the ground.

Just shows the pathetic state the world is governed into.

The australian national colours are green and gold, 'Wattle tree colours'

And in spring time there is a whole week dedicated to acacias, 'Wattle week'
In this time the Wattles come to life with their green leaves and bursting Yellow flowers.

The aboriginals of Australia held the species of wattle trees very high, making weapons boomerangs, spears, they ate the seeds and grubs that lived there in, they used the gum and saps and leaves as medicine they even produced an intoxicating mixture that was highly valued.

There is an old Ozzy childrens song, probably older than the national anthem?
A gum tree is reference to indigenous Australian Acacia trees, 'wattle trees'
The Kookaburra is an Ozzy bird looks like a king fisher, and has a laugh like a very cheeky monkey.

Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree
Merry, merry king of the bush is he
Laugh, Kookaburra! Laugh, Kookaburra!
Gay your life must be

Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree
Eating all the gum drops he can see
Stop, Kookaburra! Stop, Kookaburra!
Leave some there for me

Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree
Counting all the monkeys he can see
Stop, Kookaburra! Stop, Kookaburra!
That's not a monkey that's me

Kookaburra sits on a rusty nail
Gets a boo-boo in his tail
Cry, Kookaburra! Cry, kookaburra!
Oh how life can be

HERE is an adaptation of this song by an Australian psytrance producer;

there isn't actually any evidence of aboriginal DMT use.. however I have no doubt in my mind that some tribes would have made use of it.. especially as some acacias contain both betacarbolines and dmt

Nah the documented Aboriginal intoxicant made from roots and ash from two species of Wattle, was not DMT. some other admixture

look into "Pituri" Smile seems to be some kind of chewing tobacco... but it has been reported as hallucinogenic.. certain species of acacia are used to make pituri though I can't remember off the top of my head which ones they are.. i think they used acacia ash or something

Acacia Aneura is the species, but according to wikipedia, it is unkown if it is psychoactive.

Various species of Duboisa are the main ingredient in pituri. The Acacia ash is used to make it alkaline so that absorbtion of alkaloids is more efficient. Some Duboisia species containe tropane alkaloids such as scopolomine. Australia is in fact one of if not the largest producer of scopolomine. A Duboisia leichhardtii × D. myoporoides hybrid is what is grown in the scopolomine farms in Queensland.

Thanks Vitalstatistix Pleased

thats really interesting to find out.. especially after seeing a pretty unnerving documentary about the darker uses for scopolamine... what exactly do they farm this alkaloid for? does it have medicinal properties?
