well i havnt read this thread till now (thanks for the bump) but the title alone did inspire me this last weekend, I really like that term "sacred launch pad". We went to a little music festival in the area and decided we would create a very calm and sacred place to get away from all the crazies. We had already been working on huge paper mache glow in the dark mushrooms to put at our campsite, the caps were probably about 3ft wide made from paper mache and then painted. My girlfriend and I each painted the caps and also used some cool glow in the dark paint on the caps and stems, Ill post pics sometime they turned out pretty cool. I called these the sacred mushroom gaurdians, we put one on each side of the doorway to our launch pad. Inside the gazebo tent we put down some cool rugs, bean bag chairs, a bannana chair, and a camp cot covered with pillows and blankets. I put up a small table as an alter of sorts. On the table we had a couple tealight candle holders, a rock that i painted a sunset landscape on for smudging sage, insence burners and stuff. We also put some solar yard lights in front of the alter and around the edges inside the tent, wich provided a very cool dim light in the tent. We made a horrible mistake however, and put the tent by the path. I wanted to make it inviting, so that hopefully people with good intentions would be drawn to it. What happened instead was lots of drunk and disrespectufl people intruded in our sacred space, and it almost turned into a space with a very negative and heavy energy, exactly the opposite of what we intended. Luckily one of the wiser elders that was at the festival stopped by breifly that night to share some wisdom and help us subdue the demon, she saved our launch pad. She also helped me realize that this sort of thing should be kept private. That was our mistake.
We would like to build on this idea, and have been thinking about setting it up in our back yard for a nice peaceful private place to hang out and still feel the breeze, also I like to think of my art studio as a sacred place anyway but I would like to set something up for meditation there as well. The studio tends to get a little messy so it would be nice to have a clean organized place to clear my mind.
Thank you for planting this seed in my mind, I will try to post pictures soon but I kinda have limited access to the interwebs so it might take a while.
