I have some red caapi vine (112g) and was thinking of brewing it for future use. How should it be stored and how long will it keep for, or is it best to hold off brewing until ready for consumption? Also will this be enough vine for 2 doses? I only weigh 65kg

2 doses depending on your admixture. iirc chaliponga needs close to 112 but something like mimosa you could use 56g.

as far as brewing beforehand, i can see how it would be more convenient, but you would have to worry about it succumbing to mold (idk if you could rebrew and it would be still be ok if that happened)

but if you put the steaming-hot brew in a mason jar and then in the fridge i don't know why that wouldn't keep, but i make no assurances.

also the vine should store as long as you keep it in a cool dry place (possibly air-tight if you wanna go the extra mile.

the strenght of caapi cant really be generalized by the advertised color unfortunately, it depends on vendor and possibly other factors (where/when was it harvested, age of vine, if it was correctly identified, etc).

So the best you can do is first try a small amount (10-20g) to find out strenght of your particular batch (or try to find someone that bought frm that same batch, maybe check suppliers subforum)

I suggest first brewing without the admixture till you find the strenght, then you can mix the admixture.

Ive had supposed red caapi that was potent at 40g, so in that case you would have two very strong doses or 3 medium-small ones.

As for storing, as with everything, cold, dark, airtight.

Alright thanks. The vine was purchased from I4msh4m4n. Assuming it was stored in the fridge in an airtight glass jar about how long would it keep for, does it lose potency over time or is it just mold I have to worry about?

It will not lose potency over time, it will just change the pH (becoming more basic) over the weeks/months as it starts to ferment. You can reboil it again to remove alcohol formed. And yeah, mold is the only thing you have to worry, but if its closed and cold, hopefully this shouldnt be an issue.

In the freezer it should store indefinitely
