I'm not really sure where to post this.

My family and I planned a get away to the Fam boat(kind of a hotel on water.) Only to arrive to find it broken into and everything of value taken. Which was quite a bit. The material possessions aren't he problem...its just money. But being violated was a bit of a blow.

I'm sure many, if not all here have been violated like we have. But I guess I just wanted your guys' opinion of the matter.

Man, I'm sorry to hear that. This kind of shit can be a real blow to your personal sense of security. I'm sure it's little comfort thinking that the perps were probably either teenagers or desperate losers. I guess it's time to be grateful to be in a position to own such a thing, flawed as the experience may be. I hope you and the family are somehow able to make lemonade out of lemons here... And that you have good insurance.

Appreciate the kind words guyomech. You're right we are fortunate enough to be in a good spot in life, and since the incident we've just been talking about how its good we weren't there when it happened. It def opened they eyes a little more.

As for insurance it is covered, but its just gunna be a battle for every penny. No suprise there.

In my experience the police never really helped or even just did their job, but I must say the police where the boat is are very helpful.
I've never heard of a cop dusting for prints or taking cigg butts for DNA evidence on location for a routine dispatch. Bravo.

check the local craigslist for your stuff.

I'm sorry you were robbed. I have little tolerance for thieves, I always had to work very very hard for my stuff.

People like that make me very angry. I have had the pleasure of being burgled a few times, and it's not the material things that gets to me, but the fact that some one has been rooting through my personal belongings, invading my privacy, and showing complete disrespect to their fellow human being.

One time some one sneaked in while my GF and I were still in the house and stole a laptop, another time I woke up at around 10am (broad daylight!) to find some one trying to prize my bedroom window open with a screwdriver! There have been very few times that I have wished physical harm on people, but that was one of them. and yes, these things have made me pretty paranoid (to the point of ocd) with the security of my home. It really is very saddening, and I hope the bastards who did this to you are caught.

Nope, I live in sunny old UK, where it seems many people are out for themselves... the thing that really pissed me off was that one little toe rag stole my camera, which had loads of snaps from a recent snowboarding expedition, plus loads of family pics that I hadn't had a chance to back up on my pc They also emptied my expensive grinder of all the trichomes I had been collected for months... I'm still puzzled as to why they didn't just take the whole thing

Holy crap purges that sucks I'm sorry...but yeah just the fact that somebody would do that, not the material possessions part, is the worst.

I've been checking Craigslist since it happened and so far no luck, we're hitting up pawn shops too.
