Last two weeks I've been in quasi continual agony with Sciatic nerve pain, some relief with steady plasma levels of Ibuprofen backed up with occasional Tramadol but still always there in the background. Not so with spice, for those 5-8 equisite minutes it was 100% gone ( even though I didn't "breakthrough" While it's unrealistic to use it as a durable pain killer, I'm curious about the mechanism involved in the 100% pain relief it provides. Any medical experts have an opion on this?

My take on this is, if it works for you, then I guess that's all that matters. Not sure if this fits 100%, but I have a clenched stomach all the time (I wake up as such and go to sleep the same) and the only thing that works each and EVERY time, never fails, is smoalking some DMT. After a few puffs, I literally feel something reaching into my stomach, twisting something, and then I'm cramp and pain free (because sometimes the discomfort grows so big that it's becoming painful). I believe this happens due to the extremely efficient muscle relaxation mechanism that DMT triggers. Sometimes this effect lasts only for the duration of the session, at other times the whole day. Yours being a more intense pain, it's harder to "mask" for a longer period I assume. However, I tried DMT to get rid of a headache I had at some point. And it worked the first time, but the 2nd time I tried it, it only amplified the pain. I'm only talking low doses here, 5-10 mgs, not more, taken in one hit for maximum efficiency. It might work with multiple puffs, I've tried, but you have to smoalk a lot more. The truth...lies within.

I'm with rjb on this one. I have congenital irritable bowel syndrome, and I'm in a constant world of intestinal pain/discomfort (which has a direct impact on my emotions/mood as well). Now, I could be having incredible cramps and pain, but if I smoke DMT, it completely vanishes. Like rjb said, it's like I can feel my stomach unknotted, and pleasantly and efficiently doing it's job like it's supposed to. It's like an insta-cure, and thank god the cramps don't come back after those brief 5-10 minutes of respite. At first I thought that this happens due to a shift in body awareness, but I realize now that I'm still quite aware of my body and stomach even; it's just that the pain is no longer there. Now, I don't and wouldn't ever use it as a cramping remedy, but I take some comfort in knowing that if I am cramping and want to smoke DMT, that it will probably do the trick. In Tony Wright's book "Left in the Dark" he speculates that while the dominant left brain typically holds control over the digestive tract, that if the left hemisphere is suppressed so that the right can temporarily assert dominance, that it can operate the digestive system as well, if not more efficiently. It seems to me that DMT brings out a lot of right brain processes (visual symbols, unity, emotions...) while suppressing left brain processes (the ego and its extensive constructs), and perhaps because of this, the digestive tract is able to operate at a much more optimal efficiency, thus reducing cramping and intestinal pain. Perhaps this is also why DMT will work so readily at healing gut pain, while it may not be as reliable at negating other kinds of pain. "Science without religion is lame. That probably has little to do with it; serotonergics, including ones that provide no psychedelic activity, are rather effective for pain management. Serotonin itself is involved with pain management. "Nothing is true, everything is permitted." ~ hassan i sabbah "Experiments are the only means of attaining knowledge at our disposal. ..^, yeah there's actually a couple of patent applications for the delivery of a number of indoles (including n-methyltryptamine) in the treatment of chronic back pain..

several times i have gotten 100% pain reduction from DMT. Pain in the neck and it's muscle-related. The stiffness and pain in the neck is totally gone after 10 seconds after inhalation.
The effect on muscles are really interesting. I would really like to know what actually happens. It feels like every cell is rejuvenated but i have no idea..

Global I have an ebook that was kindly given to me from another nexus member (whos name I wont mention out of respect for privacy) regarding IBS and similar conditions (colitis etc.) that lays out a game plan for tackling and self healing in regards to lifestyle and dietary choices. If your interested I'd be happy to send you a copy. PM me. Kind Regards PS

you should see if mushrooms have the same affect as well (seeing as how its basically orally active dmt) if so that could be a reliable form of pain relief that you could grow yourself (though being on mushrooms every waking moment admittedly is not the best idea [...or is it?] ) My wind instrument is the bong CHANGA IN THE BONGA! ๆจน
