Looks like tanchez to me. Simple clean up and your on your way. Big grin

I deleted that post because I thought I misread your previous post. Anyway, I'm a bit paranoid of high ph mixtures after reading some horror stories on other sites.

One guy dumped some lye into warm water and it boiled over and spewed all over his face. He ended up in the hospital with serious chemical burns. Almost lost an eye. How do you explain that one to your friends and family?

perhaps im just psychosomatic. either way, its definitely safer...

Very happy

a few weeks ago you asked about tropane alkaloid extraction. just sayin'.

limonene sucks. dcm, toluene, and xylene are more effective solvents.
if there's still solvent left in the product, there are several ways of removing it.

why does limonene suck? its safe and multifaceted in its uses for deodorization and cleaning... yields with limonene surpass naptha when it comes to dmt and are on par with xylene when extracting mesc.

and yea a few weeks ago i asked about it, how does that discredit my perspective or serve to sustain any point you seem to not be entirely expressing?

for the record the project was discarded due to my desire to sustain safety. so benzyme whats your evidence that limonene "sucks" ?

i feel more comfortable with kitchen level chemists using kitchen level supplies such as limonene and encouraging amateurs to use something as safe as limonene (which can extract mesc, dmt, and ibogaine) seems like the best idea, since most arent able to use lab grade equipment, so using appropriate solvents seems like the best idea. people cant hurt themselves with limonene like they can with xylene, or am i wrong? 1 teaspoon of limonene vs 1 teaspoon of xylene, id rather take the limonene....

Haha yeah I had quoted your post only to realize it had vanished. I thought I had experienced a bout of temporary insanity. I know this is dangerous business, or at least that is can be dangerous, but I am taking the necessary precautions. In addition to my respirator, I have chemical goggles and chemical-grade gloves. Just purely out of curiosity, I have had my leftover basified cactus in a Ziplock bag for over 36 hours now and it still hadn't eaten through and I don't know that it ever will. I imagine it's not much different from water sitting in a plastic bottle, but I'm only assuming. I performed all of the actual chemistry in glassware.

I've had facial scars from before I could walk or was basifying plant powders, so I know how it feels to wear them but explaining their origin is no issue. That is a terrible ordeal for that individual. I have added NaOH crystals to boiling water on many occasions now, and I know from experience that the big issues are the circumference of the container and rate at which the crystals are added to the water. IME, if the basified solution is allowed to sit and cool it becomes completely safe to work with at virtually no risk.
