Hello everyone!

So my first batch of changa is currently happening, and I am basically set on the procedure but I have a few questions.

First, is 95% ethanol a suitable solvent for dissolving my freebase into and evaporating over caapi leaf? Is acetone preferable? I don't really mind if ethanol is more problematic or anything, as that is the solvent I have on hand other than naphtha and I don't really want to make another trip to the hardware store for solvents.

The guide I am using suggests a two week soak in ethanol but is this really necessary? I am thinking more along the lines of a few days tops? is there any noticeable difference?

And I suppose all I can think of for now is, does anyone have any smoking tips? We'll be using a bong to smoke it, but I mean more along the lines of a specific technique for smoking...

Ok, thanks everybody!

Ethanol works. Two weeks isn't necessary this can be done in a day basically with a fan. As for techniques, superbong it, changa spliff it, vaporize it, and enjoy it.

Ethanol works for mixing all the consituant, but if you speak about pulling actives from caapi leaves you'd need more than a day with vine.

Although if you pull caapi leaves it shouldn't be long either, longer for vines (The two weeks are more to pull from vine).

The best would be to extract from caapi tea ala gibran2 or from rue to have a known ratio of harmalas.

But a quick changa can be made simply by soaking leaves in ethanol (I'd soak for day) then dissolving the gram of spice in ethanol and evaping onto one gram of either caapi leaves or better mullein, for its great absorbtion and lessen of sticky touch.
Smell like tea n,n spirit !

I'm not going for an exact harmala alkaloid amount, just soaking 11 grams of caapi leaf to evaporate over a gram to make 11x caapi leaf and then will put the spice on it...

Cool, I will just let my leaves soak until my spice is done freeze-preciptating and do it then!

The only leaf I have atm is caapi leaf. I like smoking the plain leaf, I find it to be easy enough to smoke.

So when the leaves are done soaking, would I add the DMT directly to that ethanol or are there two separate evaporations?

Common sense is pointing me in the direction of that, but I thought I'd ask - can the harmine saturated ethanol hold a gram of Spice?

If you used a very small amount of ethanol to extract the caapi, and are concerned about the alcohol being saturated, you can just dissolve the spice in another small amount of ethanol and then add it to the recipient containing the caapi leaves. Or pour the spice in there, add another dash of ethanol and stir. It should not make any difference.

Hey everyone!

So the changa is done, it's really quite nice! I've been working on getting over my fear of DMT that I've had since this one hell-trip that I had... and Changa seems to me like the way for me to get over that... the fact that it's just SLOWER helps me alot, the precipitous gallows-drop has always put me off from freebase...

However! I have a question concerning smoking technique... So I slowly increased my dose to 100 mg of this changa (36 mg spice, I made it a little weaker than 1:1 as it is my first batch) and I noticed that while I got good effects, it wasn't anywhere close to 36 mg vaporized in the VG. My VG is stored at my dads house seeing as we are traveling and didn't want to have to ditch it or get busted with it, and so we have been working on less efficient ways to do it... anyway so I am using a bong with a pull-stem and putting the flame a good inch or so above the changa and the moment it lights I let off the flame... I am worried that maybe the spice is melting through the stem? I have some copper scrubber in there but I don't know... is this just how changa is?

I'm just looking for some tips from the most knowledgable group of humans I know of! How do you guys and gals make the most from your changa?
