I've recently started to have some anomalies at the edges of my vision when completely sober, and they're starting to come with more frequency every day. It's like suddenly there appears a really bright white glyph or pattern in my peripheral vision, the direction is random. Then after about a second or two, I instinctively move my eyes to try to look at it, but it always disappears. They can be really big (10cm diameter) or really small (1cm), but always bright white. Here's an example of what the structure can be like:




I don't think it's HPPD because I haven't had any psychs since more than a few weeks, and it started a week ago. Or can it come delayed like that?

Has anyone had anything similar and is it good/bad, and did it stop increasing at some point? It's not really bothering me, but it can be distracting when I'm trying to work on something, and it's not even that cool because you can't directly look at them. More like frustrating.

I have the same thing and the glyph or pattern I see consistently is a recurring hallucination very similar to the image on the top right.

I also get tracers big time, weird white shooting star like dots in the sky when the sun is out, and many other minor things.

I've learned to ignore it, it hasn't stopped or decreased much, but that's probably because I haven't stopped or decreased my use of psychedelics.

I get these too. Just like a white ball of light and then it zips out of my field of vision as I try to look at it.

Yeah these I've always had but from what I understand they're pretty common and not related to psychedelics, same thing with floaters.

there is a name for these. its white blood cells on the retina or something, i forget the technical term. The thing i don't get though is that when meditating while staring at the sky these have all come together before to form a sort of vortex/tunnel and it was very euphoric to experience. no idea whats going on there

daedaloops, what your describing seems to be eye floaters. i'm not 100% sure..but i've seen some that look just like that. Especially telling is that they react to your eye movement and you can't look directly at them.. although i dont recall seeing many white ones.

No no, I know what floaters are, if you mean these.

But what I'm having are really really bright, almost glowing, and they have a very specific psychedelic pattern, although I haven't seen it on any psychedelic before. But the feeling is very psychedelic when they appear. Like Sky Motion said the picture on the upper right is probably the closest. But more alien glyph-like.

You have floaters that form patterns like that?? They must be trippin on something.

Yeah the pictures of floaters on the web really don't do them justice, but from what your saying it sounds like its something else. I have a lot of peripheral activity but not usuaully anything like that. I get spiders more than anything else

I get lots of weird stuff like the worm looking floaters that everyone has and the sparkles but occasionally I'll get breathing walls or spiders/bugs crawling around in the corner of my eye. I get tracers on the daily. The most disconcerting one though (only because I feel it is blood pressure or heart related) usually when I am in the bathroom, I guess its all the white walls and floor, my vision pulses with my heartbeat and it will dim slightly and warp around the edges.

The alien glyph is unfamiliar to me though, you've got a whole new creature on your hands Daeda.

The best one is when you wake up in the morning (it has to be dark) keep your eyes closed to keep out any light and go turn on a light and look at it (with your eyes still closed) it will make some very hyperspacial patterns.

Synchronicity. I keep dealing with these strange bright flashes in my vision, especially in the dark. It strikes me as very psychedelic like, however it fades so abruptly I've tried not to read to much into it. However, it keeps happening so to come across this thread makes me wonder if it might have some sort of cause...

I have had something similar maybe, but not in the last 25 years though. Back then, on occasion I had a small area of my sight (with eyes closed, as in, it would appear when I looked left or right, with my eyes closed) filled with a circle playing a sequence, always in grey silver-ish, kind of anthrazit B/W and always the same.
It started with the small circle filled with a honeycomb shape, smth like 12 to 18 cells, looking like brushed metal, then kind of morphed into what I can now only describe as something that looks like a macro-picture of a stone wall (back then I thought it looked like a close up of the wall of my grandmas house) and then morphing into something looking like the silhouette of a radio/tv tower sort of thing.

It stopped when I was about 8.

EDIT: at that time, and I'm kind of sad its gone (just tried), when I used my hands to press on my closed eyes, and moved them, varying pressure, massaging in circles, I could see all kinds of dmt-like geometrical patterns appearing... Behind closed eyelids...

so I have floaters! I have seen a specialist about it. he gave me some drops in my eyes and said to read this info paper on it while the drops relax my eyes. he then would look in to my eyes after.
it said... (and I dont remember the exact names) that floaters are things that look like dust balls in your vision. they are suspended dead blood cells viens. they are normal and nothing to worry about. but if they get so you cant see because of them, then to they would have to clear out the liquid the eye and replace it with salt water. the problem is salt water isnt a good thing to have and might need to be replaced more times due to abnormalities.

so these floaters look like gray fluffy balls or worm or cell like. for me they look like that. i see them every day! in the sky they are there. if i try to look at it, then it moves further away! the doctor told me to just go far from him, to run!! just enjoy them. stay away from treatment, he said.

ok, so also what was in this paper i had to read was. if you see bright flashes of lights in your vision, then this is serious. it is the retina peeling off the back of your eyes! you will need to seek profession eye specialist imediately! or it could get worse and maybe load to blindness... or painful... (not quite sure of the details because I knewi didnt have that)

Oh maan, don't scare me like that... Hopefully I don't have that tho, because I think that was just talking about general bright flashes, not patterns. Anyways if Sky Motion has the same thing and has had it for a long time, then it's pretty safe I guess..
