the best guitarist you've never heard of, Mr. Steve Kimock... i don't know him, but his guitar playing tells me all i need to know about his understanding of hyperspace... Sound Tribe Sector 9 is amazing. Gary Clark Jr. is an amazing guitarist. Lastly, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND checking out Eric johnson's "a song for life" and "a song for George".... And shpongle of course. Maybe we don't know what we need.
