Unfortunately the unsustainable brazillian government practices just keep going. Belo Monte construction has already started 6 months ago (though they are facing their third worker strike since then).
The new environment law they are going to vote soon also gives amnesty to people who deforested in the past, even if it was country-sized amazon areas that were cut down. Doesnt look good, and it's all in the name of "Eternal Growth", the elusive god of capitalism, that all western economies seem to be trying to reach. Too bad it doesnt exist....
