A picture's worth a thousand words and a symbol is something that represents an idea, a physical entity or a process but is distinct from it. Some say ancient civilizations have symbolized dmt in their writings and ruins. Scientists have the molecular model.

If you guys could symbolize DMT, what would it look like? Imagine seeing it on car bumpers(spaceship bumpers?) or graffiti'd across the world.

Perhaps a fractalized tessilation of DMT molecules spiraling ad infinitum.

I would like to paint a purple elf-like alien with graffiti to represent DMT

the chemical structure would be an obvious symbol for it. Perhaps an entity holding it, offering it to the viewer.

or maybe a key that is tucked into the forehead of a human and there is a galaxy in his head. Implying that it is the key to reality Smile

A very trippy looking multicolored faceted key, made from the molecule.

I do meet people occasionally with the molecule tattooed on them... Definitely a good way for us to signal to each other. Now it just needs to be symbolized in a way that provides an enticing invitation to the rest of the world.

I believe the OP meant how to symbolize it without the molecule. I mean the molecule is just something that scientist have told us how it's structured, it doesn't really have anything to do with the DMT experience itself. I don't think the tribal shamans ever knew or cared what the molecular structure was (unless they saw it in a vision), because in a way it's irrelevant. Like the word DMT which comes from the structure, it's just something that us "civilized" folks use. Some tribes call it something else.

So I guess that makes it a bit more interesting, how to convert the experience or spirit itself into a universal bumper sticker... I guess it would have to focus just on the visual side tho, because you can't really convert the other aspects into pictures. So maybe something that is the most common visual phenomenon for people, like some sort of mandala? It would be pretty interesting to have a contest to make a symbol for it.

The reason the molecule is relevant as a symbol is that this is a modern science based (at least partially) culture, and we understand what chemistry is and what it means. The idea that a molecule can be a key is a simple, understandable shorthand for what we are getting at.

I do believe there are some pure forms in hyperspace that we could potentially bring across the divide and render as very simple but effective reminders of the multidimensional experience. But bringing these things across is way easier said than done. IMO, though, that very task is what many of us are focused on doing, and it's only a matter of time. Meanwhile, though, let's have that contest!

Hm if I had to represent what DMT is for me in a picture it would maybe be like this:

I would have a smallish man standing at the edge of a pool (but the view is from an odd angle) and then while he in "reality" is small and starving, in the pool he is beautiful and full of life. Above him I think I would put a lantern and the rest of the landscape would be dessert. You could have the background sky as a darkish blue.

That would actually be a really cool painting.

Hey, going back to the key thing: OK, let's lose the molecule, as Daedaloops suggested... And simplify down to key/mandala. Maybe a key with a large round handle, mandala inside? Or a mandala with a keyhole in the center, key in position, ready to unlock the lock? It should be a cool, trippy looking key made of DMT stuff.

Well you did have a point, it's not as irrelevant as I made it seem. I mean I just got to thinking that if aliens from another planet came to earth and saw the molecule, they would have to know what it is, right? Any intelligent species that has space travel will had to have come to the same kind of conclusions on physics and chemistry, at least at some point in their evolution? Then again there might be some really weird organisms out there that don't think at all in the same way as we do... It's hard for me to grasp whether the current state of physics and chemistry is specific to humans or not..

But yeah, my point just was that it should be a universal symbol, so something that even the tribals and hypothetical weird aliens would recognize.

Rolling eyes Are you lacking creativity for a company logo, or something?Laughing

EDIT: Mandalas are the most universal symbol of DMT
