you know it'd be really interesting to get someone with a piano to tinker around with lsdmt, or something similar, and see if the visual imagery each note stimulates matches up with these cymatics

Psytrance + loud sound system on the beach = sand cymatics Get up close to them with a head full of acid and yeah, they're there. You are right, though. Formal exposures would be interesting tests indeed. You could also use a signal generator for accuracy down to a percentage of a Hz. I would imagine a good speaker at decent amplitude would work better than headphones for such experiments, but this is pure speculation.

Dolphins are incredible. Years ago I had some conversations with John Lilly about his dolphin experiences. They would often show him images if he was open to receiving them. He firmly believed that the sound packets they were using to communicate with each other contained holographic information such as images, tastes, smells, size, distance, density, any much more info. Dolphins and psychedelics (for the humans) go well together as they open us up and help humans to understand more about plant and animal communication. Dolphins can teach us a lot. Let us declare nature to be legitimate. All plants should be declared legal, and all animals for that matter. The notion of illegal plants and animals is obnoxious and ridiculous. — Terence McKenna

Center of the Cyclone and Lilly on Dolphins were two of the first books I ever read that had serious implications for opening up my mind to just how much more there can be to the world than just what our everyday experiences tend to show us. Very cool that you actually met him. Mitakuye Oyasin wrote:Dolphins are incredible. Years ago I had some conversations with John Lilly about his dolphin experiences. This really makes a lot of sense. I mean, the fact that we interpret certain frequencies of energy as visual information and others as sound is a fairly arbitrary thing, and more tied to the way our brains operate than anything inherent in the vibrations themselves. Who's to say that what we interpret as sound alone is manifest inside of a dolphins mind as the same sensations we perceive. It could well be that they 'see' sound vibrations within their consciousness or even perceive it in ways we can't begin to imagine, well outside of any of our experience. Doesn't seem too far fetched at all. Images of broken light, Which dance before me like a million eyes, They call me on and on...

When I saw this, immediately this came to mind: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AS67HA4YMCsNotice how, when the pitch of the sound goes up the intricacy of the sand-patterns increases as well. I had this very experience on DMT. Pitch of buzzing sound going up accompanied by an increasing of intricacy of the geometric visual patterns I was observing. So strange to see sand do the same thing on a vibrating surface, subjected to different pitches of sound waves. The sand makes the soundwaves visible, in a fashion somewhat similair to how iron filings can reveal the lines of a magnetic field.... Now this 2D imagery is interresting, but this makes me wonder: Could such a Glyph be made in 3 Dimentions? Just how jawdropping would that be? Like glass marbles with 3D geometric structures inside of them, representing sounds of a specific Hz. & Pitch.
