I was just thinking i grew up with this kid and he was born with a condition were at birth the baby has not formed a roof to their mouth.

Has anyone heard of this condition, i will try and find a medical term.

Does any one know if this condition disrupts the formation of the PINEAL?

As the Pineal forms at the roof of the mouth.

cleft palate?

do those babies have disrupted sleep patterns and/or thermoregulation?
I was under the impression that the pineal gland resides further back, behind the brain stem.

Complete failiure to form the palate is very rare and is usually associated with other anomalies of face and limb development (Nager Syndrome); cleft palates, of varying degrees of severity are more common and can be an isolated finding. The palate develops from the first pharyngeal arch and a key part of the embryonic 'face' called the frontonasal prominence.

The pineal develops from the diencephalon which is one of the divisions of the very early forebrain (prosencephalon); the diencephalon gives rise to the thalamus, hypothalamus, subthalamus and the epithalamus. The pineal is embryologically related to the epithalamus.

The palate and the pineal have distinct sites of the development and palatal problems are much more common than pineal developmental disorders.
I am paranoid of my brain. It thinks all the time, even when I'm asleep. My thoughts assail me. Murderous lechers they are. Thought is the assassin of thought. Like a man stabbing himself with one hand while the other hand tries to stop the blade. Like an explosion that destroys the detonator. I am paranoid of my brain. It makes me unsettled and ill at ease. Makes me chase my tail, freezes my eyes and shuts me down. Watches me. Eats my head. It destroys me.

Cheers corpus callosum i love the information on this site.
So the mouth roof and Pineal form separately.
The kid had a severe cleft.

i read somewhere that from infancy to adult hood the pineals location moves from on top of the palate to a more centered part of the brain, as do birds

lol some reptiles pineal glands have cornea, retina, and lenses
