I am extremely proud of having participated in the making of this video produced by the NGO ICEERS.

And I know many people here will be touched by the story of Rumi and Danae.

The video is in spanish, but you can activate english/french/portuguese subtitles with the CC button of the youtube player.

Hope you enjoy it.

Peace.

Thanks a lot for sharing! Im sorry they had to go through this, but im so glad the judges not only removed all charges but recognized that ayahuasca work done by them had a positive effect on others!

Yes, and that is a great precedent for other ongoing legal conflicts abroad.

The prosecutor ran out of arguments and witnesses, because -as far as I know- the only person among the hundreds attending Rumi and Danae's therapy who went to a hospital to be checked for post-aya treatment anxiety had hidden to them a pre-existing disorder and her use of medication.

Basically, the balance between people who highly respect ayahuasca therapy and received important benefits from it, and people who did not experience it as beneficial, is overwhelmingly turned towards the first.

Which is something we know, but it is comforting to see other people realizing. Besides the fact there are MANY significant studies in progress.

Hopefully, we will slowly get to a point where, even if it's not possible to receive a positive outcome in every headline, sentence and regulation regarding ayahuasca, the bias and agendas present in negative outcomes will become progressively more obvious to everyone.

I have first hand experience with the medicinal values found in Aya... Aya is the mother to all who seek a well being innternally... it helped me when i was in need, funnny enough my friends who got me this help were both from Santiago, Chile.... I was in Ecuador at the time.

Thank You for this post, its amazing to see that ignorance is a global epidemic even where Aya has been used for thousands of years and developed as a theroputic staple in local cultures where persecution is enforced

Thanks for the video. It's always good to see more positive Ayahuasca stuff being sent out. As we all know the Caapi vine contains Harmine or Harmaline, etc,...and these compounds have been used as antidepressant medications in the past, so it should be well known, and no surprise that obviously the vine has an antidepressant function. The Chakruna just allows one to see the good that's happening.

One day the Western world "might" accept that thousands of years ago, before chemists and science even existed, that the Indians found a top class medicine that was much more than simply a "mind blowing" antidepressant, but one that could actually be used like an MRI scanning machine is used today, but i'm having a safe guess that it'll be a while folks, and a rather long while before science admits to it's shortcomings... Cool

Forgive my ignorance and lack of understanding of the law, but HOW can individuals in any country continue to be prosecuted for using ayahuasca or any of its analogues after this sort of verdict? How can that be possible even outside of Chile? And since there is very little money in it, why does the law even care? If a task force busted down my door right now they'd only find paraphernalia, plant materials, and fungus, and NO drug money, NO weapons, and NO other substances of interest. Ridiculous.

The cops will keep raiding as long as it's illegal. That is alright. You never know what kind of fuckin' idiot is trying to play Magic Shaman with people's minds. There are some crazy idiots out there trying to wash weak minds, and these raids make sure they don't trip too hard with all that "magical healing" stuff.

I'm cool with raids every now and then as long as it's illegal.

The law is just doing their job, following current regulations. And those, besides what international treatises might say, can be completely different depending on the jurisiction and the country. What chilean justice says has no direct effect in what american or british justice says.

However, the reports and witnesses and documentation presented in one case might, and should, have an influence in other open trials.

Regarding money, presuming "there is very little money in it" is sadly not true. Just ask yourself why so many psychoactive substances and plants are made illegal in the first place. Under the excuse of public health protection, substances that have been named "catalysts of dissent" are banned, and for the same price you open way for big pharma companies to monopolize remedies, and even define and treat conditions that might be way less common if people had plant teachers available. So, even presuming the impartiality of the law, there IS a lot of money and market interests involved. Just think about Cannabis and Marinol. One is illegal, the other is not, and is peddled by pharmaceutical companies.

I don't think I can agree with that, as long as illegal is not a synonymous for unjust or harmful. Raids are not generally aiming charlatans, they are motivated by the tools they use. They don't want to ban fraudulent shamans, they want to ban psychedelics.
