Well what I do is just sit and close my eyes and kind of feel myself (spiritually lol) and my presence, but I skip some days y'know.

Haha oh A1ph,

I'm speaking of the traditional terms and practices (ex. Vipassana)

I do try to meditate at least twice daily. Absolutely worth it. Over time I have seen many things about myself improve, spiritually, emotionally, and physically. I practice the Hong Sau technique as put forth by Paramhansa Yogananda and am working on being initiaited into kriya yoga at some point (hopefully soon). I really can't recommend meditation enough.

Blessings

PS: the synergy with spice I find to be phenomenal (not at the same time though)

When I meditate, I simply set the intention of calming & clearing my mind, and then sit cross-legged or half-lotus, eyes closed, and just wait. I do this for as long as it feels necessary. And yes, it did help tremendously. I'm much more composed, don't have any more racing thoughts, and I'm generally more confident and more focused on everything I do. I've also noticed I've become more response-able as well.
The truth...lies within.

I do yoga, which helps with everything. However, lately i've been interested in and reading about the jhanas. Of course, it's hard to fathom these states if you've never experienced them.

However, during my last chemically induced journey, the visuals consisted in a plain blue background with some pattern over it and, for a while, my mind lingered in this calm, detached but somehow very well defined state, where some thoughts more like what we experience in normal consciousness would float in and out. And, while in that state, it occurred to me (in light of my readings on the dharmaoverground site) that it could be something similar to a jhana, and tried to isolate and preserve the sensations associated with it (didn't work).

Since I've never reached a jhana through meditation (never tried either), I don't know what it's like, but being in that altered state while sober and aware felt good.
