Firstly, Thank you to the admins for promoting me to full membership! I've already gained so much from discussions with the very knowledgeable members here, and I hope I can in turn share what I've learned with everyone else! Thank you all!

So this weekend I did a couple things for the first time. 1- brewed/drank caapi tea, and 2- brewed ayahuasca.

The tea was fine tasting (if you like tea in general). And relatively quickly (within say 20 minutes) I felt the effects. There were no visual effects, simply a overwhelming sense of calm. It was an extremely mellowing feeling that was very enjoyable. It wasn't something I would recommend to people before in a party, or before any event that requires energy, because the mellowing was so much that you just want to melt into a comfortable chair. In fact, this would be a GREAT tea to drink before bed.

As for the brew-

I went for the 9 hours (3x 3hrs boiling) method, and then reduced the combination of those 3 liquids to 2 doses- approx 1 cup each. Everything went rather smoothly, and the resultant liquid looks just as i've seen in others pictures and videos. I'm excited to try it, though not sure when I'll have the opportunity. Possible next weekend. I'll keep you all posted.

Just a quick question-

If i wanted to take my finished product- 2 cups of liquid- and reduce it further, can i simply pour what I have in a pot and boil it down further? or does this all have to be done in one reduction session? I see no reason why I shouldn't be able to do it a second time, I just wasn't sure if anyone here had experience or knowledge of this.

Thanks everyone!

Oh, and I've pictures too! I will try to post them tonight in a follow-on post Smile

Deleted the pic post. Wasn't working because I have the pics in my email (not a photobucket or anything) so I dont have a good location to link them in from... yet.

Nice. I'm interested in the caapi tea. Can you tell me how you made it so that I can do the same? I have some leaves but no vine.

caapi tea i made in as simple a way as you can imagine.

I tore open some existing tea bags we had, dumped their contents, and stuffed them with crushed shredded caapi vine. I then folded and stapled the tea bags closed, dropped them in about 2.5 cups of water, and boiled for about 20 minutes.

the brew turned to a yellowish color, and had a very tea-like aroma (very pleasing actually).

then drink! simple as that. there may be more complicated recipes out there, but i was just experimenting and found this to be quite enjoyable Smile

there's no reason you can't reduce in multiple rounds, 3toedsloth!

but you do need to turn around three times and sacrifice a pile of fruit, or else the magic will be lost... Razz

thanks banana! I worry with a username like that that sacrificing fruit could in fact be dangerous Pleased
